Australian media raided by AFP

We highlight how tank man in China has been airbrushed out of existence but here we have our own big brother raiding journalists homes.


Was interesting that they raided Annika Smethurst home, went through her underwear draw, cookbooks and other personal belongings but never took the time to actually raid her office to get her computer etc. What a farce, this was about intimidating the media and sending a message to not support whistleblowers.
She wrote an article that the government were looking to give enforcement agencies greater power to spy on Australians.

Why her home and not her office?????

Then the ABC were also raided over the Afghan files concerning unauthorised killings in Afghanistan.

Why did the AFP not investigate the confidential leaks during the election which favoured the coalition government , these leaks were about ther Medevac bills.

It does show there was government interference which the AFP allowed to happen. They pick and choose when they apply the law.

A really shameful episode which all Australians need to be worried about. The media are the eyes, ears and mouth of the public. If they are closed, just call us China.

The media has ALWAYS been the mouthpiece of the powers that be, not purveyors of truth and a beacon for the average joe/jane.

When journalists step too far out that role, they are hemmed in. Regardless what country.
