Hey guys, did anyone try to get tennis tickets this morning? When I logged in at 9am, it kept asking for an Australian Open Membership number on the buy now screen... this sale was for general public. At 9.03 this was removed but for any session could only get tickets in the Upper - did anyone manage to get tickets in the Lower?

Had the exact same problem, I saw the membership thing and thought wtf, so crazily search emails for it thinking maybe i'd forgettin about it and then like u said, it dissapeared. Ended up with seats in row FF of the upper level for the first Saturday night.

The whole thing is pretty dodgy, we went to the final last year and all i could get was nose bleed seats at 9am. I dunno if its cause they sell most of them as part of the series packages (which go on sell the thursday) or if its better to do it by phone. I dunno, maybe someone can shed some light on how to get decent seats?

I got tickets only in the upper, row FF from memory. The same thing happens year after year, the lower section is seemingly only released to tour groups and people buying multiple days.

Yeah, that happened to me aswell but was ok after a few minutes...I got lower level for Days 7 & 11 and Row CC upper Level for the Mens Final.

A lot of people buy the series tickets and that is why the lower seating is almost always sold out as the series tickets are available 4 days before the single ticket go on sale.

Thanks for the replies guys - much appreciated. I got tix in the lower for one night through Qantas a few weeks ago, but was hoping to get some for the following night.

This year I rocked up and lined up on the day and got tix in row L in the lower for the 4th round Nadal/Murray match. Lined up for 90 minutes - but was worth the wait.

It is poor that there are tickets on ebay already, but not fot the night of the 23rd that I am after.

In terms of getting good seats - it is probably worth it to get a series ticket, will have to keep that in mind for 2009!!

There may be more ticket releases in the coming months.

Does anyone know why row AA in the upper is classified as restricted view?

last year a couple of times i went on the internet/rang up the day/morno\ing before i wanted to go and was able to get good lower level tickets. this included the saturday night both molik and hewitt got beaten. got no idea how the ticketing works?
