He would be the cheapest backman in the Job.
He would be unduly greatful for his oppurtunity.
And he would be better than Vardy.

Any thoughts??????????

well....

Vardy is younger, more leaque games.

yeah ...i'm OK with it...swapping them ...it won't change our ladder position much...

and I'm sure Royce appreciates his position on the list.

I'd say that Talbot has had a better year and it would be a reward that would be seen as a postitive right through the club and lift morale in the two's and the seniors. Vardy's never going to cut it. His Brain moves to slow.

Could do alot worse. Has more football smarts than Vardy. Remember, Wilson was draughted at 29 and has done a reasonable job at West Coast. Also, Talbot has some advantages over 90% of our list. Muscles!

Well I can relate to that....

I'm not against recruiting Talbot...but it's hasty to dump Vardy.
Maybe some didn't notice but we had a key position crisis this year...OK Vardy is no Dusty Fletcher but at least he's someone tall if the usual suspects end up in Physio...again... next year.

Try this one :Axe Bidders...draft Talbot. Why swap one young tall for an old tall....you swap talls for smalls and visa versa.
Look at McKernan/Porter....I don't think that achieved much either way IMHO.

And why don't we have a crack at David Mensch, Gerard Bennett and Bluey McGrath while we're at it. They seem to be travelling pretty well in the Veef as well.

I can't believe any of you are seriously entertaining the prospect of taking on the old fella Talbot. A backward step if ever I've heard one ...

The funny thing is - if Houlihan and Biddiscombe weren't already on our senior list, you'd be crying out for them to be signed up, based on their complete dominance of VFL level games.

Craziness.

yeah ..get kids at 17 and bring 'em up. But I'd still trade on some unwanted bean poles....meanwhle I've gone cold on Father and son mCGhie...at this stage...we might get a good midfielder at 36...Rodan went at 33.

i see a lot of merit in giving talbot a go.
*if we select young mcgie then he is going to take a while so why not use a no brainer draft pick in the 70,s to select talbot.

*it will enhance our realtionship with coburg and encourage players who dont get picked up in the draft that all is not lost.

*if you think its a backward step may i suggest the way vardy played this year and in paticular in the vfl finals then hell picking talbot wouldnt be that bad.

cheers!
