I dont think the RFC has progressed at all from 2004. What we have now in place (youth) over the delisted and some senior players retiring is exactly where we started when Wallace came to the helm. Recruiting has killed us and I only blame 1 man for that. Miller. Wallaces coaching ability has also been questionable.

What we need to do is start all over again keeping in mind the likes of Deledio, Tambling, Polo, Hughes, Foley, Polak are going to be the senior players when we actually start seeing more wins than losses on the ladder. We need to start culling the list all over again and keep some of the senior guys ie Tivendale (at least he can get some clearances) and rid the duds that we know wont make it. We need to start creating this winning culture.. and it needs to start right now.

We are deficient in so many areas its unbelievable. Priorities in this draft have to be a gun midfielder, ruckman (richo and polak are not ruckmen and simmonds has a couple years left) and a key backman. We don't need any more forwards... so whoever is in charge of recruiting.. and I'm hoping it's not Miller we need these areas addressed before we can move forward.

At this point in time I would say almost half the list is on notice but as you know we cant drop everybody at once. It will take time.

- We don't need anymore tall fowards, but a quality small foward would be worth going after.
- We don't need a gun midfielder, we need a gun inside midfielder.Currently we only have 2, Foley and Tuck. Hopefully Raines will evolve into one.
- A massive Ruckman, the best in the draft. Probably could snag one with our first 2nd round draft pick, which at this stage will probably be 17th overall

Depending on the quailty in the draft I would like to see us go with a plan like this (basing it on a bottom 3 finish with a priority pick, because i can't see us winning more then 5 games this year):

Round 1: Pick1-3, best inside quality midfielder available

Priority Pick: Pick 17-20, best tall tap ruckmen availalbe

Round 2: Pick 20-22, Best and largest KP backman available. A player who is tall and weighty who will be able to play on the gurillas in 2-3 years time

Round 3:Pick 38-40, inside.outside midfielder

Round 4: Pick 58-60, Utility wingman who is 186-194cm tall who might be able to play as a wingman or a 3rd string tall foward/back

I really hope we don't trade any picks away this year! Our list doesn't need topping up, it needs quality youngens!

What do you mean "start all over"? This is a process which has already started, we're only part of the way there. We've already culled "half the list" over a the last couple of years, but the culling must continue, and that includes old and new heads alike.

Richos Guns ide just like to point out that probably our 3rd best player behind richo and brown - mark coughlan is our gun inside midfielder. he played little of last year and will play none of this year. im worried he will never play for richmond again. he might want to move home to perth

Yep forgot about Cogs. He will play next year, although i think he may be out of contract. Doubt he will be traded even if he wants to. He is a mid-20's player who has had 2 knee injuries and hasnt play for 18 months. Hardly excellent trade bait
