This is probably just as suited to the Media Board, but word is that The Darkness are going to "do a Regurgitator" and record their next album inside a bubble in London's Trafalgar Square for all to see as they wander past.

The big difference is - they're going to run the thing as a "Big Brother"-type reality show as well !!

Don't all set the VCRs at once

Did the 'Gurge even release that album?

yeah, it was called mish mash... solid cd, didn't attract the mainstream attention past albums namely unit had though...

and as for the rumour, i heard quan from regurgitator on triple j this afternoon... they own the rights to the band in the bubble idea, and he said they're licencing it to a company in england, but according to him they hadn't got a band for it yet, and it was a long way from fruition...

cahnnel v filmed the entire thing, showed 1/2 hour of highlights a day, jabba was also in there the whole time

The idea was bought by Big Brother boss Peter Bazalgette (Endemol) who plans to bring the concept to TV screens across the UK and then sell it globally.

You wanna hope The Gurge made sure they got the right price as the on sales must be huge.

They haven't found the right band yet but have confirmed The Darkness have been approached.

Oh boy! Can't wait! Reality TV AND The Darkness could life get any better.

did anybody else hear about when Tenacious D went on a hunger strike and locked themselves in a bubble to protest their poor album sales?

GOLD

Aprarently the boys in The Darkness hardly spoke to eachother when they were making their last album and all 4 were never once in the studio at one time together and in fact recorded their parts completely individually, such was the tension. And apparently Justin Hawkins is a complete control freak when it comes to song writing.

So if for no other reason, it could make interesting viewing to see them locked in a bubble together for X amount of weeks.

That's what splits bands up when (usually the guitarist or singer) try to control everything and treat the drummer like absolute ********.

Either that, or one the girlfriends of the band moves in on the action.

I know ... I've seen This Is Spinal Tap so many times. (And The Beatles)

They seemed ok together when I saw them last week. The closest relationship appeared to be Justin and the bass player- the other Hawkins guy just stood back with his guitar and didn't get involved much. Even if there was tension between the band, they'd still be great live because the whole thing revolves around the lead man.
