After a frustrating few hours on this damned spreadsheet of 270 bands I was emailed, I have got the answers to 147 bands. And now, of course, I can't find or locate the answers... does anyone have the answers/know where I can find them/know what I'm talking about?

It's an Excel file called bandnames.xls
There's 270 bands
I'm going insane, I am certain Mike Patton is one of the pictures.

I know this is going back a few years now but I have 266 out of the 270.
The only ones I am struggling with are numbers 23, 153, 209 & 253. If know these, i'll swap you for the rest !!!

I just had a listen to Gilby Clarke's version. It's okay but not a patch on the original. The biggest difference is Mick Taylor's guitar work. Oh, and I just heard Axl whining yayer-yeah and shit. Total turn off.

I think I've seen Richard Clapton and Jimmy Barnes cover this song as (average at best)

I love Gilby's version (love the whole Pawnshop Guitars album), but I am a big GnR fan too- if you hated Axl's voice the chances of loving Dead Flowers is pretty slim - check out Tijuana Jail for a great track, with Slash on guitar

I love Dead Flowers. I prefer this version:

Just found a live version. Looks like it's in a bar or studio or something roughly around the time Sticky Fingers was released. Would have been good to be at this. Check out Mick Taylor's soloing.

Both the original version and Clarke's are very much products of their era (when I was talking about loving it earlier, I was referring to specifically Gilby's version), with the Stones having a very rock n roll, end of the 60s/start of the 70s feel, and Gilby having a very post-grunge/punky kind of feel to it. Personally I prefer Clarke's version, but I'm guessing I'll be in the minority there.

This is Tijuana Jail BTW.

Gilby's version is okay but it's flaw is that Dead Flowers is essentially a country song. It's a simple 3 cord song all the way through and what makes it pop is the country guitar licks and solo. Clarke also has these licks all through his song but the country lead guitar doesn't fit as nice with grunge.
