Anyone watching interview on Footy Show. I feel that Sam is asking the same questions over and over again - talk about drag it out! He has answered the questions and Sam goes on and on!

That's because Sam is a senile old git and shouldn't be on TV. How people find him entertaining and enjoy his rubbish is completely beyond me.

If you watch 'The Footy Show' and expect to see some recent AFL news and intelligent discussion take place, most people would react the same as the response above.

But the show has gone more to the family side of things, and that would surely lift the show up a peg or two in the ratings. I don't like it with the bigger audience, but that's what shows now need to do to hold their place and time-slots on their respective channels.

They drop constant crude innuendos, call each other ****s, show nothing but contempt towards women and publicly humiliate mentally challenged people (lets face it they don't exactly look for intelligence for street talk). I don't see how this can be considered family viewing.


I don't expect intelligent football discussion, I understand that they are shooting more at a comedy/variety type show, but they don't need a poor excuse for a human being like Sam Newman to do it. I laughed so hard when he had that go at John Elliot. The description he said fitted himself like a glove! I feel a little bad at saying this, but I wish he never recovered from cancer.

I don't think they go out of their way to do such things. I don't think any of those things are a key element of TFS's success either. If the show is continually ignorant & rude on a consistant basis, I'm sure the show would start to go backwards and CH9 would look at putting this show off the airwaves.

If the show isn't family orientated, then why don't they go more in-depth? They do on 'Footy Classified', I'm sure they would do much the same if it was directed at the 'footy lovers' audience.

It's not that I want him dead, more so that he lost his zest and no longer wished to be on TV.

I work night shift, guy I work with likes it, not much to do at that time (we don't do much at all really), so mainly it just helps to pass time.

I'm not very frustrated with the show, I just find Sam Newman repulsive and it detracts from the show immensely.

I usually check out whether any Essendon boys are on and listen to our team then turn it off. Felt rather sorry for Barry though last night, how many times did he have to answer a question????? Agree - hope he goes to the doggies and wins a flag!
