Just interest to see peoples thoughts on him and if you think he would be what Collingwood need?

I've personally always liked him, good size and build and with the experience behind him he is now a ready made ruckmen. Wouldn't fetch much, so he'd be easy to get?
What do people think? He'd have to be a better back up option than Fanning or Richards? Hard to get a player of his size thats ready made, and I don't personally be wanting to wait another 5 years if we draft a ruckman.

Anyways tell me what you guys think

If Cheaply, would be worth it!

That's one of the better suggestions for a ruckman that I've heard.:thumbsu:

More upside than Bryan, Keating, or that bloke from Frankston and could really make a difference.

The only sticking point would be the new St. Kilda coach. I'm guessing that he will probably rate the ruck position a lot higher than the previous coach and Brooks may be in his plans for the future. But if we could get him, I'd be all for it.

Rix could also be a target for our recruiters.

Considering the trade's and pick's that resulted in him going to both clubs he has played for, well, i'll be amazed if we could get him cheaply, and there is no point taking the risk for a man who is getting older and older and still can't get games. He also went up in value from his Rnd 22 game, only game for the season, for memory.

I guess it depends on what you consider 'cheaply' for a ready made ruckman, which is seemingly pretty hard to find. And by older and older, you realise he's younger then Richards? At 22 I'd hardly consider him as old.
And it's always tough for a tall to develop and break onto the scene, but he seems like he's right on the brink to do so. From what I always heard, he consistenly dominated at VFL level but was never in good favor with Thomas, as with most ruckman.

I'd be suprised about how much they could ask for him, and I think we would be able to tempt to them seeings they already favor Ackland, Rix and Blake all before Brooks. He was taken with pick 15, i cant imagine he would have firmed his price on the market very much? Before that Rnd.22 game, I would think he was on the edge of being delisted...One game can't help him that much

I reckon he is too. You'd be mad to get rid of him after doing all the hard yards. But you got rid of Barry Hall, Peter Everitt, Tony Lockett, Heath Black, a Lappin and a couple of Wakelins, so anything's possible!!
Everitt, Hall, Lockett, Lappin were traded due to our dying effort to change our poor culture.
I don't know the story about the wakelins...
heath black's wife wanted to go back to perth or already was there and heath asked to be traded which is understandable...
we got some decent players out of those trades... we got pick 13 for hall who we used on dal santo thats i all i can remember though, i know we got fiora for black but that still might turn out okay if the new coach plays him... but i'll accept heath black has been alot better and i wish he stayed
