Barry Hall Reported

I just want consistancy from the MRP, Rutten etc, and I just watched it again, Macleod should get reported for pushing the ump out the way when he ran in to settle things down, I dont like the idea of those things being reportable but he did it, why wasnt it looked at if the MRP are being fair and consistant? Totally Hall focused as usual!

After looking at the incident again, i'm not really that surprised the incident alone was worth only 2, it wasnt anything that serious really. However, the fact that Baz will get away with a 2 week lay off with his record kinda has me a bit shocked.

Oh well, the MRP and Tribunal just doesn't work as it should, so inconsistent.

Plus he is in good form as well.
Yes, runvs he is in good form, but there is something not quite right upstairs with him as well. As others have said (and I agree) the brainfades he's having are becoming too distracting to the overall team performance, and you can even see it on the ground these days. Every time he gets involved in a "heated contest" or a bit of jumper work, he gets a crazed look in his eyes then half his teammates are running in to cool him down. This overall must be having a weird effect on the players, not to mention Roosy, who sounds well and truly pissed off with him.

I'm not saying there's any easy answers on this one, because BBBH has given so much to our club and truly deserves recognition for that...It's hard...hard...

Skip!
That is EXACTLY how I feel. You have expressed it much better then I ever could have.
It's almost a shame that he keeps going out there. He can be such a great player on the day, but with the flick of a switch it is all undone.

I fear for how he leaves the game! I fear for how he will be remembered in his time at the Swans. As a supporter I want ANY ex Swans player to leave the game well respected. Even more so a p'ship player & even more so the one that held THE CUP aloft on that glorious day.

What are you doing Bazz?

Hes a big man. Plenty of people have had great careers in different fields but have had less than glorious exits.

The game has changed so much that even bitchslaps get 2 weeks. Unfortunate IMO but everyone knows this and has to accept it. Hall knows it also but just cant help himself. Symonds is the same with the grog.

I sympathise with both blokes, both great characters and incredible sportsmen. One cant stick by the rules on the field and one cant stick by the rules off the field. Ironically both would be role models and legends in the 70s/80s for their current days misgivings. I still smile at the memories of Rhys Jones going bananas V Melbourne at the G. I was in awe of the Boons and Marshs and Walters drinking exploits. They are only memories now whether we like it or not. Those days are gone, rightly or wrongly and they wont be returning anytime soon.

In a supporting sense I am numb about both. In a real world sense they are both big boys and have to live and die by their deeds. No biggie IMO.

In an ideal world I would love nothing more than Hall to play the remainder of this year, plus next year and maybe beyond. He still has the physical ability and talent to do it, no doubt. He has so much to offer the team and the blokes around but it wont happen because he is unable to control his instincts. There comes a time when everyone has to man up. It takes a far bigger man to control those instincts than it does to react.

I just cant see Roos and Sydney giving him any more chances. There is too big a percentage of the salary cap invested in him and he has continually let everyone down.

I think he is gone. Sadly for us.

I feel pretty much the same way Skip. I find it hard to get angry at the bloke for something he obviously can't control. I really believe he feels remorse for his actions whenever he does something like this and probably feels like a right **** for letting his team mates down but he just can't help himself. I'm pretty disappointed by the whole situation but I hope he gets to play the rest of the year out and then moves on.

Thanks for the memories Baz but you've made your bed and now it's time to lie in it.... No one will suffer from this more than Barry Hall.
