Bartram - Worth a Spot?

Title basically says it all, is he worth a spot on Sunday?

He was probably our best player after TJ throughout the Pre-season.

He is ahead of Godfrey and probably Read too, only JMac would get the nod ahead of him for a specialist running role.

I think hes ready, nothing looks like it will faze him and is there a better club to make your debut against?

Be interesting if he was assigned Murphy.

We need a better tagger than Godfrey, this kid looks like he could fill that role. JMac is more valuable getting the hardball and annoying the other teams (i.e. his feud with Wayne Campbell over the years where JMac basically bitchified him) receivers.

Bartram to take Stevens early imo.

He certainly has been very good. Simplys throws himself in and is a very good tackle.
I'd give him a go Round 1, but it would mean Bate and/or Jones wouldn't get a run. If he could tag it would be great though, it's the one thing our midfield lacks now.

nah i'd put him straight into the thick of it on stevens. i wouldnt expect murphy to get anything over 15 pos. shouldn't be a worry

From what I've herd the kids attitude is spot on, absolutely works his ass off and is willing to sacrifice his own game by 100% comitting himself to a task. Hoping he could be the final piece of the midfield jigsaw if Sylvia, McLean, Maloney & Bell can continue to develop.

Would be a waste of a tagger to tag a first year kid. Must get Stevens.

yeh but for a quarter or so he could build his confidence up by keeping someone like murphy to a low amount of possessions which shouldnt be hard as it its murphy's first game 2

Put simply, the fact it's the kids first game shoud be irrelevent. He is in the team as a tagger.

If we wanted to ease someone into football by letting them play on a kid then Bate or Jones should have played on Murphy allowing Bartram to tag someone in the VFL.

He is in the side for one thing, so far he has had jobs on the likes of Akermanis. To leave Stevens without a tag and instead tag Murphy would be foolish.
