I have heard this is a possiblity that he will face up for nairne, however he would not be bowling pace, apparently he can bowl a handy off break.

Itd be safer that way for sure. The standard isnt that brilliant so im sure he could take wickets with an offie or two. If he bowled half rat power up the hill at Nairne he would still be awful to face and youd have the keeper standing back in the goalsquare. Im sure his brother will get him out for a couple games late in the season.

Mark Sorell has come out today and said he expects him to come back but isnt sure when, just that they wont be putting any pressure on him and theyll let Taity make his own decisions.

Whats his brother like as a player?

Ordinary. Does play A grade and bats at 4 (waaaaaaaaay above where he should) because "i hit them well in the nets" and bowls little mediums which are handy at best. Rates himself pretty highly though.

his brother's alright.

Seen him take wickets in B grade and C Grade for Sturt a while back, obviously not quite as good as Shaun, but he'd be handy in Country Cricket wouldn't he?

i remember one over he bowled in B Grade he lost his run up something terrible, and he bowled 7 deliveries (one no-ball) plus about 12 false start run-ups, it was funny to watch.

As I said, rates himself very highly on the cricket field but personally I dont think he's that great. Regards himself as an all-rounder, very tounge in cheek though. I was a bit harsh on his bowling, he does take a few wickets in the Hills league but really the standard isnt great. They were just smashed by the mighty Torrens Valley Association during the recent carnival :D.

I think this spells the end of his test and one day career. Any future aspirations he had playing for his county are now well and truly over.

I think he will come back and play for the Southern Red Backs next summer but that’s about it.

Hopefully Sean Tait can get himself right physically and mentally.

that's alright, i haven't seen him for a while, but oh well.

thanks for that

Adcock GAAAAAAWWWWWWWNNNNNNNN!!!!

Dropped from the Pura cup side. New captain is Manou

Bout time the selectors actually did something.

Manou already had his chance. He's had a reasonable season this year without the added burden of being captain so why give it back to him, even if its only short-term. Then again, who else is there ??

Elliot or Dizz for the short term, then look at it again next season.

ferguson?

Too much too soon for Fergs I'd say, he needs to become more consistent with the bat before becoming skipper.

Manou is the first choice with the selectors I'd say, even though I would have given it to Dizzy. We don't know who the players would prefer though, that may have had some bearing on the decision too.

Anyway, it's about bloody time.

Is Dan Christian captaincy material if he hangs around a while? I just don't see anyone else even close ATM.

Thoughts on Cosgrove?? Can't believe he might throw away a promising career for burgers and beers.

Dan Christian is a long way from captaincy.

You would think that the selectors would choose someone who is also a captain at their grade club. Which is why Dizzy may not get a go. Adcock for Uni's. Manou for Northern Districts. Elliott for West Torrens (some of the time he is anyway - not all of the time).

It's why the SACA hierarchy are making the redbacks players take leadership roles at their clubs - so they can help along with captaincy etc. etc.

Had to laugh at the paper today saying a big score awaits Cosgrove. He got a quacker.

Dan Harris is captain at his club as well isn't he?

Anyway The Man is 84 now, can he finally crack the ton? Deitz is 46. Good idea to drop him down the order.

Oh and SA are 4/218. Fairly even I guess as our tail is stronger than our top order.

Fantastic effort by Harris. Great to see him notch up a ton. Speaking of tons, Cosgrove has to be on thin ice........ no pun intended.

Drop the fat piece of shit. Put conditions in his contract making him meet certain requirements and if he cant meet them then we are really losing nothing. Except 140kgs from our team.
