So BBL Supercoach has opened as of this week. There are a few rule changes, the most significant of which is the abolishment of all rounders. As a handy guide to assist with planning I've created an excel document showing when each team plays twice, once or has the bye. I'm not sure whether WBBL Fantasy is back as well but if it is then this thread can be used for discussion about that too.

Having a brief look early and this seems a bit more difficult than the official fantasy in regards to pricing and positions but that isn't a bad thing I don't think. Also there seems to be less double game rounds this season? Or maybe not, can't remember but was expecting more.

It's a while away yet but it'll be hard to pick which Scorchers bowlers to pick if they are all fit and there could be a chance there is a couple of changes from game 1 to game 2 which is something to keep in mind considering they have 2 games in round 1.

so glad to be back. I'm confused about what the abolishment of allrounders is?
Last time there was BBL supercoach (2 years ago) they had an all-rounders category. This year they don't.

You may be getting it confused with BBL fantasy which has never had an all-rounder category.

Bench subject to change.
While i like most of your selections the key to fantasy is planning to use the scheduling to your advantage as teams play anywhere between 0 and 2 games per round. If you use my excel spreadsheet from the OP you can see a breakdown of how many games each team plays per round over the course of the season. The idea is obviously to maximise points by having as many players as you can pick playing 2 games in any given round while also planning for future rounds. This is because the points are cumulative for teams that play more than once in a round.

For example, in round 1 the Heat and Scorchers both play 2 games so you would want to look at getting players like Tye, Willey, Agar, Turner, Klinger, Qadir etc from the scorchers and Lynn, McCullum, Cutting, Swepson, Peirson etc from the Heat. The Heat; however, play 0 games in round 2 and round 3 so it may not be smart to go too heavy on them as you know you'll need to use trades to swap them out. With 3 trades every round you can afford to chase the best players based on scheduling. For instance, my team currently has 7 players combined from the scorchers and Heat to try to make the most of round 1. Then for rounds 2 and 3 ill dump my Heat players for Strikers (2 games in round 2) and Hurricanes/6'ers players (both have 2 games in round 3). Then for round 4 the Thunder have a double game round so ill trade their players in. Meanwhile the Heat play every round from 4 till the end of the season with another double game in round 6 and 11 so ill look to trade them back in etc.

So yeah, planning according to the schedule is essential in this game so i think i'd personally change about half of your team in order to tailer it to the schedule.

I don’t even know if BBL fantasy is going ahead. Thought it would’ve been up and running by now if it was.
All mentions of Fantasy BBL now lead back to Supercoach so I'd say that the two comps have merged (understandable given that SportsDeck/Virtualsports manage both. I wonder if they have similar plans for AFL Supercoach and RDT Next year)

Yeah it's a bit of a shame that there's not both but there seems to be a real push in regards to BBL supercoach, even being advertised during the ODI's etc. I actually enjoyed the WBBL fantasy last year as it meant I could have an interest in games, managed to win a few bucks off that and the email I recieved said something like 'hope to see you playing next year', well I would if you held the comp again...

I messaged the official BBL twitter page and they said BBL Fantasy will be running this year with details to be announced this week. I also asked about WBBL fantasy - given it starts this Saturday - and they said it will also be running and will be announced this week. Given its Thursday I don't hold high hopes that WBBL Fantasy will be up and running for the first games but they said it would be so I suppose we just wait and see.

Ah cheers, was hoping something would be up and running. I suppose with the way WBBL fantasy was setup last year it's not a huge deal if they miss the first weekend or so. Plus maybe they'll just do match day prizes rather than an overall winner.

Too many Scorchers
Scorchers have the double game with the Heat in Round 1, so it's not a bad idea to start with a few.
This is what I have. Not sold on a few players though, likely to change

Lynn becomes Carey after Round 1 for sure.

Yeah but 4 bowlers makes it tough.

Willey, Denly, Sams and Ingram/Neser will stay in my team all season. I'm not sold on Pattinson, but at 62.5K and double game Rd1 - still thinking. Summers and Bryant could become Fallins and Dooran.

Risk not having Lynn, I know. Won't be getting D Short till his double. Lamichhane will most likely become Maxwell in Rd5.

Waiting/hoping for Stokes to be nammed as Sixes 2nd import. Keeping a watch on M Short for Strikers, if he gets a game and a bowl he'll be my POD.

Not long till it all kicks off.
Get involved in my teams league. 761681
Good luck all.

Rose and Christian could make or break your season. Check Toxics post above about Archer, and remember you get double points for Scorchers & Heat players Rd1.
Cheers done some more changes including Christian for Cooper and Bringing in Cutting.
