My own vote remains on THB but in light of dero’s reveal I’ll change it, probably to another inactive

I thought I'd keep quiet about whether I'm recruitable in this game given loudly proclaiming it in the last one got me recruited by evil night one.

We know Pie wasn't recruited unless someone targeted Nothing for recruitment, but he's more likely to lie about his recruitable status given he'd expect to be shot night one in this game and announcing as recruitable might buy him a reprieve.

But the second part of this post reads as evil as you’re just misleading now, since non-Vamp recruitments are astral (cannot be swapped , blocked etc ) as per the OP. You’d know this too. In other words anyone but the vamps could’ve tried to recruit pie as normal and they would’ve ended up with pie.

What else have you got at this early stage? I know it’s usually day two that you have everything and everyone rumbled but humour me with a go on day one?

I thought I had the game sussed day one last game but my list was poor (only slightly better than random) so I'm not committing as early this time.

Also that day 2 game there were only two vanillagers left alive and I was one of them with the other claiming so easy peasy. Won't have a reliable list until day four at the earliest you'd think in this one plus vampires have the potential to make even an accurate list counter productive.

Nothing was a flog so it wouldn't have worked anyway I think.

So this means that Pie is 66% likely to be recruited to evil (either last night or at some point in the future), or lied about being recruitable and is probably evil.

I don't see how we lose here by lynching him.

Given Pie almost certainly isn't Mafia it does make him more likely to be village aligned just from a numbers perspective.

It also means both the wolves and and possibly the vig hit someone protected/NI last night. I get the feeling vig probably didn't put an action in though.

MWPP was a soft vote on my part. I thought she was blinded by the vamp condition in a way that she wouldn’t normally be - and she like you is someone I usually read by how many things they do that I simply consider illogical. That said, I came around on the same “good should claim” logic albeit for the reason that evil are only gonna grow early doors so I’d prefer to continue to watch what evolves.

I assumed this too, but Marc said they stopped trying to recruit after 3 or so nights which made me wonder (as they wouldn’t have stopped otherwise , unless that day 3 coincided with the announcement of the wanderers all being gone which feels very early for all LW’s to be taken). If anyone with a starting role fails to be recruited via astral recruits , it can be seen as a fake seers with a villager result ie implying a role. So it’s always going to be worthwhile trying until BE comes up with the announcement.

Mafia wouldn’t astrally recruit pie on the same night as attempting to kill him so unless Dero is lying he can only be a wolf as it stands if he’s recruited evil (a vampire recruit attempt would’ve resulted in pie being recruited) . Anyone else could be mafia (starting or new)

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say here but as far as anyone with a role goes:

Not sure how you read this any other way. Only Drifting Souls can be targeted by astral recruits.

Missed astral recruitment should itself be of interest to anyone that it’s available to. It tells you a bit.

Do you think the vampires would target claimed recruitable players on the grounds that it's a free entry into the flogs/mafia/wolves?

Not sure how you read this any other way. Only Drifting Souls can be targeted by astral recruits.

All I’m saying as far as that goes is there’s always stuff that isn’t in the OP and the OP isn’t always as it appears. Learnt that the hard way in dero’s game. But even in this game, the BE post about how vamps can be astrally recruited highlights it too.

The using all info we can point still stands.

I took 66% recruitment to be vamp + wolf in this instance?

I don’t know that Pie is a particularly attractive recruit if everyone expected him to die early (especially to the head vamp). Personally, id be more inclined to have looked at an option less likely to attract other actions.
