Podsi kicked bags at Williamstown and Werribee for many years and never got the chance to play AFL until now. Beau doesn't even star at VFL level and watching him you wouldn't know he is on an AFL list!

I was a huge fan to play him. Now I would like the idea of having anothe tall athletic forward, however if Beau applies himself how Ive seen at Box Hill. He can't get a game.

Real hawk, quite contrary to your user name, I would not expect anything less from you given your track record.
So do you want to cut your losses now? and do what?
I suggest if you are a 'real hawk' get yourself down to Casey and cheer him on, instead of this 'negativity' you post continually.
He was not great on the weekend, yes, thats his first game forward for 3 weeks.
Get down there this week and cheer him on, by all means, come and talk to me, I will be there cheering growler and his teammates on against casey.
Next to Buddy at FF or at CHB........how good would it have been?

If Roughy can't or won't step up, back to the Magoo's and Dowler and Buddy the week after.

Can't work out how he's not an automatic in when Buddy/Roughead misses.
Methinks they might be trying to get him to work on something @ VFL before getting another chance.

All I am saying is that he needs to produce good form at Box Hill to get in the Hawthorn team and he can not do that, yet people here want him promoted to the AFL which is staggering , if he cant play well at a lower level what is the point of playing him at a vastly more intense level.
The same argument can be said of Morton and Stokes, which is the issue many have - the inconsistency.
Maybe he has signed up with Gold Coast. Clarko knows it and therefore refuses to play him in the seniors. Everyone knows that he is not that happy at Hawthorn and who can blame him.
Because he has already shown he can play well at the Senior level.
There is too much inconsistancy in the selection criteria.
- He doesn't do well at BH. Neither do Murphy, Morton, Stokes.
- It's a mind thing. But yet we give Roughy a free ride week after week.
With Buddy out this week, Dowler needs to come in. But I know there will be 100 "I told you so's" if he doesn't star in his first game back.

Since i moved out of Blackburn i haven't had much of a chance except for the 2 or so games on ABC this year.
My comments are mainly related to last year and the fact that he is not often in Box Hills best players list and the fact that any AFL standard player should dominate in the VFL. Even Tim Clarke and Steven Greene were ball magnets in the VFL and more recently during Youngies recent comeback he always looked a class above.
I hate sounding negative but i believe we persist with some players too long that we don't even use or are not decent backup.
Lets hope he gets a game this week as replacement for Buddy and kicks 6 or 7. I will gladly eat humble pie and join the Beau Dowler fan club

Based on comments of Dowler's VFL performance last week, I would doubt that he would be the one to come in for Buddy - and also considering Buddy has missed about 4 games now and Dowler has not replaced him as yet.
i think theres every chance the selection panel may just go with roughy as the focal point and hope that he fires with support from peterson, oz, rioli etc. Hopefully Rough does better that big Kosi is doing in the absence of Riewoldt at the saints.
