Who cares.

Dowler is a shadow of the player he was in the 2005 Championships.

That accident has really taken its toll on him - he no longer crashes the packs anymore - even at VFL level, and I suspect his once explosive leading pace has been reduced a bit.

The accident has truley changed him as a player IMHO. But in saying that - he's still young and has plenty of time to turn it around.

It could be worse, we couldve taken Josh Kennedy of the Carlton variety

Have to agree with you there. I remember the hype about him at draft time but he has done ten tenths of **** all at AFL level so far. Not saying he should be dominating but there should be signs. I'd be worried if I was Carlton.

What rubbish. There are signs there for those who actually watch Josh whether it be in the VFL or AFL.

You selected Jarrod Oakleigh-Nicholls.

You should be more worried.

Josh may not of done much, as of yet. But thats still more than Dowler.

At least Josh performs at VFL level :)

Going on current form; anyone who thinks that Dowler is better than Josh is truley delusional. :thumbsu:

Fair point. I've only ever seen him play for the Bullants on TV. Followed him closely in his Carlton games though, and the only time I've seen him have any influence was when he went back to CHB or HBF for a short burst a couple times earlier this year.

As for JON, same deal. Shown nothing at AFL level but is definitely a longer term prospect.

You know you want me to pull that chair lift picture out again. Dont make me..

Dowler has been pretty good the last few weeks at Bokka. Kicked 2 against the second placed side on the ladder in his only AFL game this year :thumbsu: Promosing signs from the big fella..

I have more dignity that engage in a full on scrap over the merit of reserves players:o

i rated dowler at draft time, he may turn it all around but he wont with the hawks, there are to many ahead of him atm stupid decision by him to sign a 2 year deal it just means 2 years of vfl for him:o

Not a bad point. Roughead, Franklin, Boyle, Williams all ahead of him as marking forwards. He'll find it tough to break into that group. May be better to try his hand at the other end wher he only has Croad and Gilham ahead.
