He wasn't our worst, and it was a shit night for our backs, but he is simply not the player he once was. There were signs last year (which was the catalyst for this thread), and again tonight (full pre-season and all).

Yeah... must admit. For the FIRST time, I'm worried. Poor skills, poor decisions. Poor pace.. He's meant to be our rock. With the youngsters around him, we need more. Has he been punching above his weight (as in height) for too long? At least Browny in two weeks is usually a good match up for him. Come on Truck. Prove my doubts wrong!!

Yep. Just like i've seen every other bad Rutten game and every other time he is written off and then he dominates for the rest of the year

I've used this line before for Truck, and i'll probably do it again at some stage, but

"You don't write off great players on 1 game, and Truck's been a great player"

Spot on...Jaensch was like a lost little schoolboy out there and Radar's not a close checker either. Otten wasn't too bad, neither was Talia. Definitely a lack of run out of defence though. Brodie Smith was a bigger loss than I thought. We desperately need him back in. For my liking I'd prefer Stiffy down back, MJ out, hopefully with Callinan back in next week up forward.
