Lots of talk about BK this week, I love the gut to bits but not as much Brent. I have done some research on our (Brent, Micahael, Francis and Me) hero BK..
Ben Kinnear was drafted to the Collingwood Football Club from Central District in the SANFL, he was selected in the National draft with pick number 56.
He was ahead of players like Richard Vandenberg ( pick no 78) and Guy Rigiony (77) and NAthan Thompson (82)
Bk made his debut for the club in 1998 in the round nine clash against Port Adelaide--He had 11 disposals
In his first year as a AFL Footballer he played 5 mathces in total from round 9-13, in which he averaged 6.8 Disposals per match.
In his second year he played a total of 7 Games this time improving on his old average of 6.8 too 7 disposals per game.
It was in the year 2000 that he finally got his main chance at AFL football playing a total of 17 matches for 154 disposals averaging 9.
2001 Was a very sucesfull year for BK in terms of Brownlow medal votes he received his first and only brownlow medal votes a best on ground performance against the dogs in rd 19. Finishing that year of with a Band, for the last four rounds BK averaged 17 possesions. For that year in total he averaged 14 disposals. By now he was firmly installed in the AFL's elite players...( LOL, )
In 2002 he only managed one ripping game for 13 disposals and4 hit outs, he was also emergency for the grandfinal.
2003-has prooved once and for all that BK is more then capable at AFL level. Playing one game in the first 13 rounds in rd 6 he managed only 2 handballs. Later on came back with vengence in rd 14 to 16 averiging 8 disposals and falling victim to a schocking ankle fracture early in rd 16 when he started the game with a bang.
Then he was too many a surprise inclusion into the team in rd 22 against Essendon when he had 11 disposals. In the two finals he has been in ripping form also getting 9 disposals against Brisbane ( one more then Vss) and in the Pre lim he was Best on by a mile with 16 Disposals and a ripping goal, (joke not BEst on, but close too)
He Will end up with a premiership medalion around his neck.
Through out his so far very colourful carrer he is averigeing 9disposals per game.
On the Weekend BK also brought up his long awaited 10th goal of his long but jepordising carrer.
BK owns and manages his own fitness place.
BK has his own fan club with three dudes holding a banner and wearing Collingwood guernsy's with no 28 on the back
So there you have it the low down on BK
