A well-connected friend tells me that Cuz was offered an assistant coaching role at Tigerland this year but declined for timing reasons. Apparently will wait one year. Dimma and crew believe he has a special talent for motivation.

Yeh I think it would be perfect for him to take the year off to get his stuff sorted then re-enter him into the coaching ranks when we know he's stable personally and in a clear mind!

I've got alot of love for Cuz and would love him back at the club in a coaching role!

I have heard the complete opposite. I have heard that Cuz does not care much for the intricacies of the game and that's why Dimma gave him the role of sweeping the outside of the packs when he played. He had to keep it as simple as possible.
Also heard that our current coaching staff don't really think Cuz would be a very good assistant coach as it's not really 'in his blood'.

Cuz has never struck he as a guy who'd like to work out game plans, matchups and rotations and the like. He does seem to be a leader of men and enjoy that, but I don't see him being a traditional assistant coach. Perhaps an assistant coach who is director of training, works with the players one on one making sure they are right, devises training schemes and does some talking too. But not your typical assistant I don't think

Last article about him quoted his manager saying he's got several job opportunities in WA, methinks he'll be with his family and not in Melbourne.

Think you'll find you're wrong on that count, he'll be based mainly in melbourne this year.

Couldn't agree more Tug. Without sounding like a Wayne Kerr, I broke bread with Damian and a few other Richmondites on GF eve last year. He said exactly that. Cuz doesn't care much for strategy and his role last year was pretty much as a pack sweeper. That's all he knows. He is very good on motivation, but little on strategy, tactics and structure. Doubts very much whether he would make a good assistant.

The other things that eminated from the lunch I have sort of feed in through other threads. Vickery to play forward. Troy Taylor could be anything - highly regarded and wanted. Houli in PSD. Thursty. Sorry don't want to come across as a Wayne Kerr.

Well they should get him a developement role or something then as opposed to assistant coaching. Its very clear he impacted our young midfielders a great deal and it'd be good to have him helping the players in whatever capacity hes best suited to.

I know i might sound like a Richard Head, but you sound like a Wayne Kerr. :D
Sort of confirms that while Cuz had his place in the Richmond, that time is probably well and truly over. (and i'm not trying to boo-hoo the OP, there could be one or a couple of individuals within the club who would like to see Cuz's involvement in some way)
Cheers for the inside info !

milking the cuz factor for all its worth..at the end of the day, if it conjures up feelings in tigerheads similar to mcuzzy's post, then it cant be a bad thing and might snag a few more females into becoming members..if it dont, who cares..;)

All thjis is assuming of course thet Cuz can stay off the juice once the shackles have been removed. He has enough challenges methinks in the short term just to stay clean when unsupervised and scrutinised so closely.

i kinda forgot to add '(no homo)' to my post :p

hope it happens though, but i kind of doubt it, he doesn't have the attention span either i don't think

some kind of role in the team would be awesome though
