Have heard that the advice Ben Cousins is receiving is to "get out of his environment" to help overcome his substance abuse on return to Australia. He'll probably see out the season - but may seek a new "base" for his footy to see out his career. Given our success (or lack of) with players like this in the past, would EFC be interested at having a crack at Cousins if this was the case....??

The only way junkies can ever really break the habit is to have a complete change of environment .

I think a change is a near certainty .

Would Melbourne be a wise choice though with his partener in crime Gardiner in the hood ?

I don`t think the price would be all that imposing . Eagles position would not be all that strong as all suiters would know they have no choice but to off load him . Similar scenario to Aker last year .

Interesting choice of words. ;)
Anyway, I think it would be irresponsible if we didn't try to get him.

Would EFC be interested though? Or would the supporters embrace him (if Melb was on the cards of course)....

It certainly would nice to get some "class" (except for the bloke!) into the midfield though, we have the pace and the inside players, but not the class finishers/disposers...!

As long as the base was not free-base cocaine:o

I'd have him at EFC. Not sure the suits on the EFC board would like him though.

RS Reynolds would have been horified at the stuff Cuz has been up too.

I'd risk it.

No thanks.

We don't need that type of culture down here.

Don't trust the one month rehab and in a Melbourne environment I just can't see him staying off the gear.

Could potentially be a bad influence and too risky.

wasn't he found by some teenager late last year after an all night bender at crown casino? Asleep or passed out somewhere? Think he took some pictures on his phone. Can't see a move to melbourne changing his habits...

Class act liked him his whole career, but honestly there is better opportunities to poach haha

No way...West coast can keep him..Kerr too..and Embly, and Chick...I dont want any loose cannons at Essendon..It says alot about Judd that he has sayed immune to the environment he is in..Worsfold too that he can get the team focused on footy and winning games..

Cousins for Dyson
Pavlich for Kepler
Riewoldt for Bolton

Thats only fair.. :thumbsu:
Why in god's name would we trade for 2 centre half forwards when we already have a quality one? Sure they are good players, but...

Umm i would say no under the fact of his off field descretions, but you know sheedy, he likes a challenge. Hard to look past is on field achievments.

Use Pav in the middle or down back...
Pretty obvious he wasn't being serious?
Yeah it was obvious, but you can atleast make smart arse comments that help our team structure, eg. Bolton for Lade/Cox. That wont happen either, but it at least it is looking to adress what our team lacks. The way he put it, it's obvious he knows nothing about our needs as a team.
