Has anyone heard any news regarding Ben Hudson? Is he making good progress, any news on when he’ll be available to play footy again?

I still feel that Matthew Clarke is a significant downgrade, as Hudson is quite effective around the ground. As a ruckman, Hudson has an amazing ability to gain centre clearances, and this will be missed early next season.

Unsure about where Ben is at.

Crikey, that's a big call on Clarkey mate! He performed extremely well for us in the latter stages of the past season and in the finals. His tap work is second-to-none. His around the ground work IMO was fantastic as well. He played a blinder against Port in the Semi this year and played well against West Coast.

He still has what it takes IMO. A fantastic mentor for Maric and Meeson.

I've never been a fan of Clarke. What else does he add to the side aside from his taps? Nothing. He cannot stay with his opponent; they constantly beat him around the ground. The first half of that match against Port he was dreadful, allowing Brogan to dominate him. Good for the taps, not much else.

Mate, I'll agree to disagree here. His 1%ers were fantastic in the game against Port. You only have to look at the Board a 1/2 time in THAT game to see that he was influentual.

And . . . who in the hell is Brogan???

PMSL!! He certainly wasn't there THAT day!! Did you go to THAT match mate? It will live with me until the day I pass on. Waving Port Supporters on 1/2 way through the 3rd Quarter!

FREAKING HELL I miss footy!!!

(I'll try and find the Stats for the Ruckmen in THAT game)

I think Brogan had about 5 marks for the night, which isn't too flash, but I think every single one of those was in the first half. He was totally dominating Clarke, but as Biglands came back from his concussion, he helped to turn the flow of the game, and then Clarke took over from there. Not enough credit was given to Rhett that night.

Indeed, Biggles did play well THAT night. He also bit off far more than he could chew as well! Any footy lover could see that in the TV replay. He didn't play the ball in that incident and I feel that a coach would question his motive in the tactic that he displayed at THAT moment.

Sorry bloke, but IMO Clarke was in the Top 5 for us on THAT beautiful South Australian Night!!:thumbsu:

A NIGHT FOR ALL SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FAMILIES!!!!:D

1. Disagree. His good performance in the second half couldn’t quite make up for his shocking first half.

2. Now THAT we agree on! :D

I love a good debate Drummond!

What was the final score? Where is the ball bounced after a goal?

:D
1. Adelaide 18. 15. (123) def. Port Adelaide 5. 10. (40)

2. The ball is bounced in the centre square, which is located in the middle of the ground.

Correct my friend. Now, if Clarke was such a dud in THAT game, why were we so influentual. Was it because our midfielders received first use of the footy?

Hmmmm . . . :D

As I said earlier, in the first half Brogan totally dominated Clarke. However as Biglands came back from his concussion, he helped to turn the flow of the game, and then Clarke took over from there.

Now, this is incorrect my friend. Clarke tore 'em a new A after 1/2 time. Biggles was given time to recuperate after his 'indescretion'. Yes, he did play a part in the latter stages of the game but by then the game was sewn up.

Clarke's 1%er's were CRUCIAL in the game. You are losing an unwinable* (is that a word?) argument my friend.

I have already conceived that he was quite good after half time. There is no disputing that. However you are not paying enough credit to Biglands, he was a major reason behind our second half surge. When he came back onto the ground, he was very good indeed.

Indeed my friend, indeed.

The game was sewn up by then though wasn't it?

The run out of the middle was CREATED from a DOMINANT Ruckman, which Clarkey did.

Case dismissed? :D

No far from it, because Biglands was not just a factor when the game was over, he was good even when the game was in the balance.

Yes, I agree mate, he was good but not as influentual as Clarkey!

Well all I can say is that as a big man, Skippy was more dominant than Clarke :D

So I win then? You obviously admit defeat if you are going to bring up Skip. I'm off to bed then my good fellow!!

Catch you around the 'Traps'!!

Nighty night!!:thumbsu:

Just skip in here to mention that the big bloke was mentioned as coming along nicely in his rehab. but still wont see him until about finals time and then only if he is match fit, and we make it of course. ;)

yep there was this common misconception about what a fantastic game he had, when even he pointed out that his first half was poor. He would of been the worst player on the ground for us in the first half, giving away multiple free kicks at rucking contests when thats his only strength. In the second half he had a couple of taps that directly related to goals but the game was almost over anyway.

In saying that there have been games where he's almost won it for us like the wcoast final. Biglands though is clearly a class below him and doesnt take too many marks himself. (did pick up a bit this yr though).
