If the deal with North doesnt happen as seems to be the increasinly likelihood why wouldnt think about taking him. I have been curious as to why we havent been thinking about getting Jacobs with the #30-40 pick it needs. He fits the Buckley kicking programme and is one of those HB / wing types that he is after.

Well if a Pick in the 40's with out Pick 45 or 48 I would do the Trade be is he Needed after we got Both Russell and Young?

I liked Jacobs in his draft year. Has some penetration on that kick.

My queries of him specifically off a hbf is the consistency of his kicking and decision making. Similar deficiencies to Simon Buckley in this regard.

I only really like him as a midfielder now and more in an inside role is suited. But again probably not a super powerful ball winner to our needs there.

For 42 could be interesting and it depends on how you analyse his game. One I'd be curious to hear more views on but I'd have him in the probably not on the games I've seen without fully discounting him as he can produce and play to a high level and might be better in a strong team.

yeah i hear you KNighta but I would give #42 for him as am less and less convinced about prospects at 42 but look Hine has had some success in last 2 years around there.

I would totally do 42 for him as I think he is going to be a quality player. I think if he goes anywhere it won't be for a pick 42.

He is the sort of player who can accumulate off half back and kick the ball well. Maybe a bit on the slow side.

It's an interesting one. You could be right.

I see that 20-60 group reasonably ok. Not as good as that top 20 but there is a fair group in there that I don't mind so much.

There could be some options at 42. Herbert, Carter, Towers, M.Wood among others who aren't so bad.

But that is what you would weigh up.

If Jacobs was in this draft where would you take him? This is probably what it comes down to.

I'd probably have him in my 30-35 group in my rankings if in this draft - but might have 3-4 prospects ahead of him.

But close call and certainly something requiring consideration.

As a similar type what do you think of Dylan Roberton? I rate him similar to Jacobs. Perhaps a little lower as he isn't quick so probably wouldn't trade into him but is another who is very available and similar position/type and isn't the worst back flanker.
