What's the story with Ben Johnson? Do you guys expect him to be part of a trade next week?

Even after returning from injury towards the end of last season he couldn't get a game in the seniors and there was talk of him looking elsewhere...

He actually got sick in Thailand and his best mate Tarrent only stayed with him for 10 mintues at the hospital...what a mate.. anyway Ben saw the funny side of that... by the way ......he aint going anywhere.

If he leaves, it has to be because of something involved inside the club, eg. Mick Malthouse, so I won't be suprised.

My favourite player at Collingwood, let's hope he stays for many years.

He couldn't get a game in the seniors because he was injured. He wasn't playing for Williamstown either at that stage.

Benny is as safe as houses down at Pieland...injury racked year will always have the rumour mongers serving up rubbish. Two years ago he was considered absolute leadership material given the his form in a couple of finals matches particularly the quali/finalin of 2003. Love Benny, tried and true Collingwood supporter from his junior years who one can say 'plays for the jumper'...
 
Everyone goes on about his Qualifying final of 2002 against Port and that tackle however he never really had a great game, but like L84AD8 said his 2003 qual final vs. Brisbane was great. He played throughout the midfield on Akermanis and had a great game.
 
The story I heard was he got concussed and dint recover all that well

They checked his reaction times and they were poor for a while after it
 
spoke to benny on friday and asked him if he could come play for north(worth a try) but he said that he had just signed a 2 year deal and since he supported the club as a kid would never leave

Any way its great to see he's "back" even though in reality he never went away. He's a vital player in our lineup and we missed his dash badly this year. A very underrated player - lets hope hes back to his best in 06.
 
he will b back better than ever. alot of the issues have been sorted out and look out for benny to be back to his best

Great news he is staying dare I say it real future leadership and a hard at it mid fielder no more half back for Ben I hope.

Nice to see a visitor from another club board providing some value not trying to stir up $#!~\.
 
no probs. Although i have known benny for years and he is an awesome player and a top bloke, i dont see him as captain material at least for many years yet.

ps. ive never had a collingwood supporter be nice to me lol

He's a quality player. His development from his debut year should make the likes of Lonie, Cole, L.Davis and a few others feel embarassed.

Of course, all players are subject to trade for the right deal, but I think BJ will be a Pie for life.
 
After all the crap the flew around post the 2003 GF I was more than happy to see BJ punching on to defend his and the club's honour. Give me more of that and less of the good blokes that sponsor Afican kiddies please.
