wasn't expecting much at the time but when he kicked it into the man on the mark late in the last quarter pretty much summed up how much this dud is not up to afl standard.
was a mistake you would expect from a first gamer, not a player who has had more opportunities than he's deserved.
an otherwise gutsy performance from most of our players but ben kinnear needs to be de-listed and woewodin needs a spell in the reserve to regain some form and urgency in his game. deadset looked disinterested at times. maybe playing out the year knowing full well that once melbourne aren't subsidising his payments collingwood will look at getting rid of him and his ridiculous pay demands.
on a positive, a good game from o'bree should see him starting in the midfield more often as opposed to getting wasted as a small forward which he most definetely aint.

I really hate bagging our players and I am sure Ben tries his best but he is stealing money from the club under the pretext of being a footballer. He doesn't even cut the mustard in the VFL. At AFL level he is embarrassing. That kick into the man on the mark just summed him up. When he was needed at a vital moment he was not nearly good enough. Anyone can mistake but Ben can't not make a mistake like that.

I think it's time we got rid of him, it's sad, I thought he might step up, he has showed little bits in some games, but then stuffs it all up. This has to be his last year, unless he starts to play more then 3 minutes of a game.

hotpie, i know that you follow football and follow it quite well, but once the Ben Kinnear issue come up late last year, the amount of discussion on him is quite negetive. It seems you expect too much from a 194cm tall forward, to get 20 disposals a match. I agree he did not have an impact as someone would playing 116 minutes out of 119, but it certainly was not a disgraceful effort. 2 goal assists in a game is quite good.

That set shot certainly was a true Ben Kinnear moment. In the time of the game you would have wanted them to kick it and would have broke your arm hitting it on the couch. But that moment must have had made you laugh. I think he did good enough to keep his position in the side up for grabs.

Kinnear does not do enough.

He does less than Andrew Williams who we bag due to his ineffectiveness. Therefore Kinnear is a dud.

His 2 goals assists are not enough to keep him in the team when Steve Mckee would give us 4 and more of a contest at the ball.

His inability to get near it and his totally brain freeze when he does get it is without doubt the worst in the club.

I appreciate the loyalty shown by some fans towards him but to say that he deserves a spot illustrates what a dire predicament we are in.

Either he starts to kick goals, take marks and get kicks or the club tells him that he has had more chances than than most average players and kicks him to Williamstown (where he still fails to get into the game). Kick Kinnear and elevate a rookie.

Woey was terrible, it was his worst game for the club. Anyone who can't see that didn't see his attempted chase or the freedom he gave Kane Cornes. He needs to lift.

Get off of Kinnear and give your support to someone deserving. Start the Dane Swan cheers squad.

Sorry mate...after reading your claim that 'Kinnear was quite good' on the weekend, your credibility has just plumetted!

Did you watch the game??? Kinnear was absolutely attrocious....even for his shocking standards, he was pathetic. How you could claim that he 'played well' has me baffled! And as for woewodin....

Woewodin is a soft dud who just isn't interested at the moment....and ought to be dropped. He played 2 1/2 good games last year, and two of those games he was all alone for the whole match.

That chase of his after Burgoiyne was one of the most pathetic things I've seen....reminisent of the unshaw years. Could anyone possibly be any slower....he didn't even look like he was trying...just casually jogging behind, did just enough to 'appear' to be chasing.

He was pathetic last week against Essendon, and against Fremantle....need I go on. That passage of play when he allowed Bell to cut across him without even attempting a tackle (was highlighted on 'on the couch') was unforgivable, and shameful. He should of been dropped that week as an example to our younger players on what not to do!

He was a dud at Melbourne, the most undeserving brownlow medalist of all time (Buckley had a better season that year...heck he didn't even win Melbournes best and fairest...Yze did), and for some strange reason once he came to Collingwood we all forgot how sh(t he was.

And now he has quickly reminded us just how s(it he really is.

Once Lockyer comes back into the side and regains match practise, Woewodin will have lost his spot in the side, and should be trade bait at the end of the season.

if we can't trade him...the he should be delisted, cause there is no way that dud is worth one cent more then $150K a year, and we both know he won't accept that contract!

You are far to rewarding of mediocrity...perhaps you ought to be a Stkilda fan.

I bet you thought Wild, Godden and Patterson were superstars aswell.

Can run around like a champ there but 'a man has to know his limitations" and that is as high as his competence can ever take him.

Higher than that and he is quite simply out of his depth and a liability in big games.

You see players week in week out who can be stars at VFL level but will never be competent at AFL level.

Kinnear is one of them unfortunately.

Laugh! I made my son cry with my yelling at the TV. I said to my wife, God no, not KLinnear. Please Ben do something with it. I have never seen him star at VFL level. I can't see I've seen hundreds of games but he has never looked a good VFL player to me at all.

ease up tiger. no need to lose your mind over this.

ben kinnear is a dud who does NOT deserve a place on our list let alone our starting 22. barely looks comfortable at vfl level let alone the big time.
as for woewodin. i'm prepared to take into account that he has had a very limited pre-season but some of his efforts this year have been embarrasing for him and the club. not a good example for the young ones atm. was able to tolerate his indifferent form last year due to the fact that he alsways looked like he was having a red hot go. cant even defend him on that level anymore. and believe me, i've defended him against some of my harsher mates on plenty of occasions.
but enough is enough, start playing like a leader and senior player of our club or p1ss off somewhere else.
if we maintain his current contract beyond this year when we will be paying the full amount balmy has to go. and he's on thin ice as it is.
the only question that remains is what the **** you're on.

Ben Kinnear has had long enough at the club to show something, and sadly he hasn't. There is no reason to keep him around any longer. He does play a part of a good game, but not enough to be considered for selection every week.

Ben's kick isnt anh issue here. We see 22 game players crack under pressure, how can we all expect an under appreciated player with no confidence in his first game back to kick the most important goal of the year?

Ben's game was fair, maybe not as good as i had hope considering his time on the ground. The best thing about his game was his presenting. he was running and leading hard, he had the ball late in the game when we needed it and his handballing was great. He lead,picked the ball uop on the bounce and his handballs were setting up kicks inside 50.

He had 2 poor shots for goal, but i put that down to lack of confidence, though that is no excuse for an AFL player.

What needs to be addressed is our poor delivery into 50,on 3 occasions Ben was 2-3 metres clear on the lead and the kick to him was poor at best and dropped short by 10-15 metres. The bottom line is that he presented well and the fact that he is getting the ball in the forward 50 is very exciting. he should be picked for next week but you never know with MM.

As a tall forward, his main job is delivery into the 50. If he can't do that after seven years, there's no hope for him.

Here's the thing, not every kick is gonna hit the forward on the chest is it? How about having a forward there that will try to get it? Tarrant, Rocca, Molloy when he was there, they all tried. Kinnear does not and he can **** off.

The bottom line is that he presented well and the fact that he is getting the ball in the forward 50 is very exciting. he should be picked for next week but you never know with MM.

OK there are Tarrant, Fraser and Buckley coming back this week....who would you drop instead of Kinnear?

Ignorant was a harsh attack. im not going to blow my own whistle but i know my footy, i usually watch 5 games a week, i went to 47 games last year, i play footy, i analyse footy, and though mike sheehan does all of these (exect play) listed and knows didley squat, i do know what im talking about, like all you do as well.

Hoggy, you and people like Nic and Nick The Pie Man started attacking me before i even grew as a member in our group, and seems as if you strugle to deal with a little on the recieving end. I don't know if this is because you were beatan in your early life or you have deformities on both your feet, but whatever it is i understand. we are all brothers, i must have patience for you my friend and hope that in time you defeat the demons that possess you and cause you to make havoc for yourself and those around you.
