I was initially disappointed we didn't get more from our trade. I thought the guy had plenty of talent and potential, and just needed to get his arse into gear. But today's effort wasn't crash hot. Early days, of course. But North would be disappointed with his first game.

I'm pretty glad we chose to offload him. And now, I'm not sure I even mind that we didn't really get anything for him.

We didnt get more (trade) because he wasn't worth more.
It was a 'goodwill' trade.

He really needs to add a defensive side to his game and quickly. If he doesn't his career will be over pretty quickly.

Well after todays game North will be rethinking the amount of "goodwill" they brought to the table.:p

He will be in and out of this side all year with the number of decent players still to come back into the side.

Might be out of the side all year - not sure he'll play again.

Pleased as punch after seeing the way he played yesterday.

Still the same suspect areas in his game, hasn't changed a bit.

Better shape up Benny or you'll be looking for another job (hmmmm, been a while since i've said that...)

Had a hugely disappointing game (good for us) but still has far amount of upside to him. It'll be tough for him to play Full-Forward at his height and he hasn't got the contested marking abillity he had early in his career with us anymore.

He was no good yesterday, but other than Thomas, neither was anyone else particularly impressive in our forward line.

Petrie back next week will make a huge difference to Ben's game.

He had a laser boot and always took his chances around goal the first few years he played with us which obviously papered over the flaws in his game. Now he seems to have lost the accuracy he really does not bring much to the table.

You need to improve on your weaknesses and keep your strengths he has simply gone backwards.

Think McKinley's heart is under there somewhere. ;)

Still a talented player.

Talented, one dimensional footballer.

Needs to play more like LeCras, Steve Johnson, Brad Green etc. to have a long career in the AFL. A handful of marks and 1 or 2 goals a game is not enough from a player of his size.

Should take a look at Mark Williams reinvention at Hawthorn in 2008 once they had genuine key forwards up and firing to see where he needs to be.

Not too sure how McKinely's character fits in with the 'shin boner' spirit?

Maybe he was a tad nervous about facing his old team mates?
I don't think any player fits that marketing ploy except Glenn Archer.

Gotta love having to be PC on the Internet. Did I hurt your poor feelings???

Toughen up princess...

Will Petrie be playing at Werribee?

Seriously though, there is no way he's getting a game next week. He is too one-dimensional for the AFL, will probably dominate the VFL though.

In the 2009/10 offseason, if you said we would lose McKinley and replace him with Darling, I would have said 'yes please'.
In the 2010/11 offseason when we 'traded' McKinley and drafted Darling, I said 'thank you'.
After yesterday's game, I say 'frak yeah!!!'
