Bentick not playing?

I am bewildered at the fact that Grigg was put in the side instead of Bentick. I'm not sure how well Griggy played in the seconds last week but i know Bentick had a blinder.
With Houlihan out, Bentick could have been the perfect inclusion since he is harder at the ball then Houlihan and loves a tackle. I would have also liked to see Browne in the side this week since there is no better way to start your footy career at a packed MCG crowd in the biggest rivalry in footy. We saw Krooze to it last week and I think it certainly lifted him a notch.
I hope Grigg plays the best game of his life tomorrow but I just don't understand how Bentick was not picked..

I for one is happy they picked Grigg instead of Bentick...We need defenders not Midfielders...Bentick will not get a game in our midfield in the next year or so, why pick him...

Grigg = Fast , tall, skillful = Potential to be quality AFL Player

Bentick = slowest player I have seen, no skills and as such a) he cannot chase b) even if he gets ball it is pointless.

Bentick is not a modern day footballer and needs to be delisted. If Bentick comes in you would have to drop Carazzo which is so stupid it is not funny.

Please watch modern football it is about speed and skill and he (Bentick) has neither.

benticks diposal is appalling, last thing we need in the side atm.

Grigg was a top 20 draft pick and it is time these boys get a really good crack at it unlike the pagan era.

It was interesting to listen to David Teague talk post game and discuss the players he saw as being a possible selection for the 1's, Benticks name was not mentioned (even though he racked up 40 possessions).

Bentick unfortunately will never ever ever ever be an elite footballer, he tries he's guts out but is too slow and turns the ball over too much. I really rate the guy and think he is a great leader but if we are to go forward it is the likes of bentick houlihan and scotland that we need to not be persisting with and rather going for the likes of grigg, browne, anderson and hampson....

Grigg will develop into a very good afl player but must be given time to settle in the one's first.

yes, but these days isnt everyone? he'll be playng BP or HBF on a davis/thomas type

I think that we are missing Bentick's defensive abilities.
He is one of the league leaders in tackles, and we still cannot contain sides to less than 100 points.
Have heard someone say that he is unfit, although i am not sure how true this is, especially if he played well last week.

he didnt play well last week! he turned over the ball the whole game.

he is too slpw to play the style of game we want to play.

We are dominating the clearances atm, this is not our problem. Our problem is getting hurt on the rebound, this where the pace of someone ike grigg is far more benificial to us than a slow bentick.

The only way we would need bentick would be if we were getting smashed in clearances but we are not, other than that he has no use to our game plan.

He could definately play that role. He shut down Akermanis in the NAB Challenge game at Princes Park.
