Last week I was reading an article on Dreamteamtalk.
The writer was talking about Gaz Jnr, and labelled him the best ever Fantasy footballer.
I thought, no he's not, and decided to prove it.
This is my 12th year of DT / Fantasy. Never really got in Supercoach. The day Heppell came off the ground with 80 SC points, only later to have his score reduced due to their bullshit standardising factors was the day I gave SC the flick.

Being my first year wad 2004, I decided to find the best dters since then. I also decided that 100 Home and Away games would be the minimum. Finals have not been included.
Upon seeing that Barlow has played 85, I decided to drop the games required to 85, considering the impact he's had.

Anyway without further crap, here's the top 15 Fantasy / DTers since (and including) 2004

1. Dane Swan. The one and only true pig. 216 games @ 106.06
2. Tom Rockliff. The heir apparent. 102 games @ 104.02.
3 Gaz Jnr. 216 games @ 102.83
4. Michael Barlow. 85 games @ 102.28
5. Joel Selwood. 166 games @ 101.72
6. Scott Pendlebury. 178 games @ 100.83
7. Jimmy Bartel. 223 games @ 100.55
8. Dane Beams. 101 games @ 98.27
9. Matt Boyd. 204 games @ 97.77
10. Scott West 90 games @ 96.3
10. Kane Cornes. 238 games @ 96.13
11. Nick Riewoldt 216 games @ 95.73
12. Scott Thompson 226 games @ 95.81
13. Sam Mitchell 215 games @ 95
14. Steve J. 186 games @ 94.44

Amazing how Joel Selwood isn't more popular.

Let me know if I've forgotten anyone.

Very interesting.

I did some work in 2009 I think. I lost it on my old computer. But I also factored in the amount of points scored per game which meant some of the older guys had a chance at being the best dream team/fantasy player. Modern players clearly destroy everyone because of high possesion counts in the modern game but arguably some of the older guys came out more dominant. Wish I could find it.

Its certainly more of a possession game these days.

Footywire shows players fantasy points scored each game played for 2015, but they don't seem to show if you select their 2014, 2013 profile etc; only the overall average. Does anyone know of a website that goes into detail of players points scored per round played? cheers.

Search your player.

Scroll down to the career fantasy stats section and choose a year. Once you've done that you can hover your mouse over the little icons for each game and get some extra info like where they played, who they matched up on, if they tagged/tagger.

Dreamstats is nice because you get graphs and fixture snapshot (average and previous scores against upcoming teams)

Awesome thanks mate.

Back in the day Nigel Lappin was one of the first picked.

And remarkably Cameron Bruce was dominant one year for the Dees until he went down with injury.

Guys like Dunstall and Lockett would destroy it though because of the ridiculous amount of goals kicked.
they would get monstered by tall 3rd man up style defense. Tall forwards have it a lot tougher because of all the flooding and zones. Lockett in particular would struggle because he could never leave the F50m

yep different eras...but more importantly is that the Forwards cant monster defenders physically anymore like they did in the past. Could you imagine Zac Dawson playing back in the old days? He would spend more time on his arse

But if DT was around back then, then these forwards would have been very popular. They kicked a lot of goals for set shots so that is 10pts a goal and they were often scoring 10+ goals
