Really? That's a suprise. I've seen Traill play for a couple of different leagues, and he's been dominant in every game I've seen him play in. I wish we had him in our team.

In 1998 he played in the then Gippsland Latrobe Football League for Leongatha and kicked 70 odd goals in 8 or 9 games, and then disappeared for a few years. The last few years he's resurfaced at Mirboo North and constantly kicks a bag of goals, breaking the ton every year. For Traill 5 goals is a bad day, so I'm suprised to hear that.

A few of his games are missing, but: http://www.countryfootyscores.com/bagsofgoals/biglist.htm

i remember tim traill when he was at spotswood was up there in the goal kicking he looked a good player but didn't get near the ton, having said that no-one has kicked 100 goals in the wrfl for well over 10 years

No doubt about him being a gun, but I think you'll find his 150 was for Ardmona in Ky Districts league. In fact it was 158 goals from 21 games.

Great effort, but Ky not nearly as strong a league as the GVFL is.

When playing in The DVFL he was also a great goal kicker, but I don't think he ever kicked anywhere near a 100.

So I guess you could say he was a very talented Footballer, but not the best Full Forward.

I would say that Simon Minton-Connell is the best suburban FF I have seen over the years closely followed by the Goose - Simon Goosey.

Big Spider - Jamie Shaw was more than handful on any given day aswell (as long as you could keep him away from illicit substances. I Can vividly remember him kicking 17 goals for Nth Heidelberg one day against the Eltham Panthers. In fact , I think I still have one of his stop marks in the top of my head!!

Yze Kicked 124 goals in the GVFL in 2003

young james from Strathmore U/18's kicked 110 this year, 96 in the under 18's and 14 in a couple of games in the 2's. in the last four games in the 18's he kicked 41.1

Simon Goosey. MPFL. Definately the best I've ever seen. 10 tons in a row. 10 goals in consecutive GFs. Kicked a dozen one game in the rep side one year. He was a pain in the butt being an Edi-Asp follower - yep, those 10 majors in consecutive GFs were against the Asps. I missed seeing anything of him since moving north, but hear he went to Dromana...that after retiring needing 10 goals in his last game to make the ton yet again...then going out and kicking 20! Just an amazing FF.

The old man told me he got a gig in the Whitten game this year (or was it last?). Any1 see how he went?

worst comp in vic country that why he 40 years old to do that , must be a great comp

Brendan Parker from Nathalia is a Gun FF. Played against him a few years back and was dominate in that year they won the Premiership kicking over 100+ goals, one of the strongest grabs i have ever seen!!!!

What about Adrian Baker? Booted 100+ three times as well as a 90 odd for Euroa in the GVFL, twice kicked over 100 for Broadford in the HDFL and then won the DVFL goalkicking at West Preston in 2006.

One of the best Ive seen

Seconded. I've seen him play many times and when he's on fire he's unstoppable. That usually happens most games...:D

no doubt in the world that perry meka has been the best full forward i have seen he is a machine.

to add to that he has a carrer tally of 2885 goals in a senior carrer which has lasted 24 yrs that is an average of 120 goals a yr.

he also kicked 149 goals in 2006 at 41 years of age

best i have ever seen

Goosey would have to be one of the best. Played in that tough league isn't big in size like some of the other named players and kicked 10 straight tons it maybe eleven now and doing it all through his thirties. strong league down Mornington way.

Simon Minton/ Connell came into the Comp (Essendon D.F.L) at the age of 30y.o straight from 10 years of AFL football. He was fit and firing.

He played 5 years straight and kicked over 100 goals each time. Every year he played only around 15 - 16 games and kicked over 115 goals four out of the 5 years.

He had 2005 off playing part-time at North Old Boys and then was player coach at Aberfeldie last year kicking 81 goals in 14 games at the age of 37 y.o. Played many games carrying injuries that required time off.

ONE OF THE BEST LOCAL GOALKICKING FULL- FORWARDS!!!

I know people out there might not have heard the name but a young 19 - 20 year old ex picloa league kicked 117 goals in 2006, goes by he name of Shaun Downie. Now signed with Murray league club Tocumal, not saying he is the best but could be one to look out for in the future:thumbsu:

I know there was a bloke the use to play and coach Kyabram in the GVFL named chris stuhldreier who kicked 100+ per year for 7 consecutive years. Biggest tally was 174 and one year he reached the 100 mark during the finals after he broke his ankle during the year and missed about 8 games i think. Great effort in a major league. Never one a flag during his time a Ky though. Was an absolute gun. Better than anyone i have seen in a country league.

Chris Stuhldrier was the best and most dominant full forward I've seen play country footy.

In his prime....Steven Oliver was the greatest....I watched him in a couple of games as a junior at Castlemaine in 2000 and he was amazing.....and Ive been told he was even better in years b4 that

Brendan Parker in the MFL. He has kicked 200 goals in the last 2 years and is already up to 110 this season. Played 4 or so games with Carlton in the 90s.

Played with this bloke at Newtown in GFL and he is a great footballer, reckon he would have taken 16 marks in one quarter, but he did play more of a centre half forward then.

Play football with Tony Doran (Nullawil) although he is now 44 or so is past his prime but has managed to kick 2,700 goals in his career

Dan Jordan best full forward in the State!! By a street...

Jordan is a fair cannon, dunno if he would be the best in the state but he definitely proved himself this year and made a positive name for himself. Something that will help his cause as possibly being one of the best in the state was how well he played against Ovens and Murray in the interleague final, the bfl and Jordan had O&M on toast till they came back for the win.

ROn Best would be one of the greates local league full forwards of all time

In a stellar career which spanned seasons 1968 through to 1984 Best kicked a league record 1624 goals, topping the 100-goal mark 12 times during his time in the BFL.

Best's last game in the BFL. This was the 1984 grand final when he booted 11 goals to lead Northern United to victory over Eaglehawk.

Despite offers from Geelong and Carlton to try his hand at a VFL career - even comparatively late in his career when he was into his 30s - the gun spearhead resisted all overtures and played out his days in regional footy circles.

And perhaps not surprisingly the medal awarded each season for the BFL's leading senior goal-kicker is named the Ron Best Medal.
