For all of you golfers out there, I was just wondering what your favourite golf course is. The best one i've played on would have to be Merimbula.

A little bit further up the coast... Narooma is a spectacular course.
Also, Apollo Bay. It's no Royal Melbourne, but a great fun course to play.

Mind you, I've never broken 60 for nine holes, so I have seen a lot more of golf courses than most other people...

I played Goonawarra in Sunbury last time I was there, and I enjoyed it. Apart from that I've only really gotten to play local municipal courses like Keilor Public and Riverside (Essendon) which are nothing to write home about.

Overall, I've enjoyed the limited golf I've played in Australia. Generally it is more challenging to my game because the greens are always small and elevated.
When I come back I would like to play Yarra Bend, Albert Park and possibly Kingston Links, though that's a fair bit away.
I am getting married in Melbourne in July and having my father and brother come down with me; my brother is a certified golf professional over here. I would like to know if the three of us could get on some of the high-class private courses like Royal Melbourne, Kingston Heath and Commonwealth as international guests. We figure that time of year that it wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Loved Riverside Oaks NSW when I played there...top notch.

My local course has a 210 metre par three which is an absolute killer hole. When the wind is blowing in off the bay (as it always is when I'm playing it) it plays about 250m!! Which means you have to take out ya driver, on a par 3; and land the ball on a bloody tiny green!!

heck!!

I played there a few weeks back. Goonawarra would have to be one of the better public courses in Melbourne.

My favourite course is Northern Golf Course in Pascoe Vale. I was a member there for 3 years but i gave it up because i wasn't playing enough.

Would have to be the Patawolunga South Course for me at the moment.....pretty good course.

Kingston Links is my favourite golf course. When the wind is blowing ... see how many balls you lose. Riddled with lakes ... and as with all links courses ... no trees to shield the breeze.

Love links courses as they're the most challenging. Another course that i would recommend highly is The Links Golf Course down on the Mornington Peninsula. Its one damn hilly links course where a motorised buggy is 'essential' (unless you like walking up and down hills). This course holds a special place in my heart. It is where i scored my lowest ever score ... a 78. :)

Smartarse!! I admit that that score was one out of the box seeing that my average hovers around 90-100. I'm one step off from official 'hack' status. But i'm slowly rectifying that! :)

And the good thing about that 78 ... i had witnesses!! :D
