Eagles Swans grand final 2005
Crows saints 2005 qualifier
Swan's vs cats 2005 semi

In 2005 crows swans was low scoring I didn't see it but heard it was a great game of football. Which games do you k ow were crackers despite being low scoring

Best one: 2005 GF = Leo Barry you star.

Worst one: The night Adelaide scored 21 points against Essendon. ESS 11.18.84 ADL 2.9.21 = worst goalkicking I have ever seen from both teams. That game was a comedy show!

Weirdly enough, Adelaide’s win late in Port Adelaide’s inaugural season.

Wind was blowing down one end all game, Port used it well to lead 5 goals to zip at quarter time, and managed sneak a couple into the wind in the second.
Adelaide held Port up brilliantly in the third, and even though we led by 4 goals at 3qt I never thought it would be enough. Held out as long as we could but went down by 7 points, 9.4 to 9.11.
That game and the draw v Brisbane the week after cost us a finals spot in year 1.

From my own club's perspective, probably late 2009 vs St Kilda. They were 20-1 and flying while we were bottom 4 but our young side was showing signs of improvement toward the end of the year. They were obviously overwhelming favourites. We kicked the first 5 goals of the game, they slowly reeled us in over the next 3 quarters, Petrie kicked the winner and we held on 10.4.64 to 8.11.59.

There was an Adelaide v West Coast game at Footy Park in the mid 90s (1995/6?)

The Crows got up and from memory and it was something like 6 goals to 5 in the end, it was low scoring but an absolute cracker of a game.

1995 Round 4, a 4:10PM Sunday game, no rain. Crowd was pretty wild, that massive barrel to the goal square where Modra tapped it through late in the 4th quarter.

7.14 to 6.10 I think was the score

Not the best, but my favourite.

First one I thought of.

Indeed, although tbf it was absolutely bucketing down for a fair chunk of it.
pies 8.15
Eagles 8.14

1992 at subi. We kicked the last 5 goals of the game including the winning point with seconds to go. Snapped your winning run.

WCE 11.8
Hawks 8.12

4.6 to 1.0 qtr time Eagles came back and got revenge from the granny at Waverley. That win made West Coast that season.

Not the best but another low scorer from that season where Eagles went goalless for 3 qtrs. Footscray 7.11 Eagles 3.5. Eagles had some low tallies that season may have kicked only 7 goals vs Fitzroy as well.

The oddest one I attended was Essendon 4.10 d Footscray 3.14 on a quagmire at the Western Oval in 1984.

Ugly yet compelling, both teams were 0.7 at half time.

Dons kicked 3 goals in a few minutes in the third. Dogs did the same in the last to hit the front, only for defender Phil Bradbury to goal in the last minute or so. Bizarre.

I remember as a 7 year old going to Whitten Oval see Footscray 3.4.22 def by Brisbane Bears 4.12.36. An oddly entrancing armwrestle game of footy as every goal felt like 4. Darryl White took mark of the year right on the boundary line in front of us and I thought he was going to fall over the fence. Absolutely foul smell coming from the turf that day though.

Western Oval had its fair share of these sorts of games that I remember as young fella going to. Lots of character.
