Although I was initially sceptical, Troy Makepeace has turned into a great player. I think if you talk about consitency, he has played at least 4 years of top grade footy coming out of defence.

I would say that Kirk would shade him, but Makepeace would definately rank around Chad Fletcher, as Fletch has only had 1 great season, the rest were just good.

Gary Moorcroft, Mark Porter,Barnaby French, Kent Kingsley, Trent Knobel and Darren Jolley all came off the rookie list too.
Players who played reserves for a team, them were recruited by thm are not classified as rookies, unless they were a rookie listed player. (this means that Cameron Bruce and Troy Makepeace weren't classified as rookies)

It seems that some teams use the rookie system better than others. All through this thread the same teams seem to pop up with having the successful rookies. Essendon is one of the best at using the system. Mark Johnson, Gary Moorcroft, Damien Peverill, Ben Haynes, Cory McGrath and Nathan Lovett Murray have all done something at senior level after being on the rookie list
