Hey guys, have looked around a little bit but I'm not really sure what I should be looking for.

Currently on a Optus 150 GB plan on ADSL 2+ - Am going to buy NBA League pass (for those who don't know what this is, pretty much means I can stream everygame I want on the internet live as I am sick of streaming on the net and it getting shut down or watching lag/shit quality) - so want to upgrade my internet to unlimited downloadlimits with a fast speed.

Going by speedtest.net I can currently download @ 15.02 MBps and Upload @ 0.69 - I'd wan these to be quicker/same but def. not slower.

Cheers guys if one of you could give me a hand in looking! :thumbsu:

I have Optus Naked Premium Cable and can't complain about my speeds :thumbsu:

The most they have is 200GB per month (no peak / offpeak distinction). I have 120GB (50/70) but might go to 150GB (75/75).

iiNet have 200/200 and 300/300 and 500/500:

And here's TPG - http://www.tpg.com.au/products_services/adsl2plus_pricing.php?/pricing/adsl2plus

How much usage does it actually take streaming a full game of Basketball? Like would it be possible for me to go over 500/500 if I streamed/watched replays of say 10 games of Basketball a week?

I was getting similar speeds, but I was on a 20/40 Yes Power plan (uploads were not counted). But I changed to the 120GB plan and got a new modem, one because the Surfboard one I had was well old, and I needed to if I wanted to try the premium speed. See here for Premium Speed Broadband. You will need one of their two Cisco modems, one has 802.11n, one doesn't. I went for the former.

It's $20 / month if you are paying month to month (M2M). If you are on contract, or choose to go on contract, it's $15 / month. I couldn't see any downside to going on contract, but I stayed M2M for now. M2M you can add and remove the premium pack each month as you see fit (over the phone), on contract you probably have to keep it for the duration of the contract. So do the math, on a 12 month contract, it will work out cheaper if you would have had the speed pack for 10, 11 or 12 months going M2M. On a 24 month contract, cheaper if you would have kept the speed pack for 19-24 months.

optus gave me an awesome surprise yesterday, am on the fusion $129 plan which was 50gb and unlimited calls on the home phone, was capped but noticed my internet was going fast again and it was not the start of a new month, checked to see what was up and saw that the plan had been upgraded from 50gb a month to 1tb.

I called Optus today to check something on my account and the guy mentioned a new package starting tomorrow. Optus Cable Broadband currently has 50/70, 75/75, 85/85, 100 and 200 GB plans, the last two having no off-peak bonus data like the first three plans.

The new plan will be 250GB peak, 250GB off-peak, for a reported $70 per month, bundle price I think, so $80 for naked.

500GB on cable broadband, add the premium pack for downloads at 100Mbps and you'd have to be happy.

EDIT: The 250/250 plan will be replacing the 85/85 plan, so many people will be pleasantly surprised at the extra 330GB per month :D

EDIT2: There's talk that people have been getting > 100Mbps. I was getting 125Mbps on the weekend, some people on Whirlpool are claiming even faster speeds.

i was on the $100 home phone bundle and broadband (120 GB) contract and got it changed without extra fee's to the new $100 fusion deal for 500 GB a month.

btw is the premium speed pack useful if you are looking at majority of your downloads being international like torrents?, I heard it is only fast for downloads on Australian servers.

Yup same :thumbsu:

Their site states *when downloading most Australian content, so yeah, possibly little difference for overseas content. I put it on last month and thought I'd keep it for another month, but I'll probably drop it until international speeds improve.
