If we didn't have Bevan in the side Catman, would we have won? Bevan didn't get out after facing so many balls; that says a lot. Bichel's innings was great at the end and we probably wouldn't have won without him either but Bevan engineered it and kept to his game plan even though wickets were falling all around him.

Totally hypothetical. To many variables to consider.

Fair to say, No, Australia wouldn't have won, but you would never be able to tell.

Take your hand off it. I only praised Bevan and never bagged Bevan, if u read your post u will see that u questioned how did Bichel make 34 off 36 if the pitch was bad, i only replied by saying he is a good batsman. Stop twisting things to make ur pathetic posts arguable. The only way i am confusing myself is replying to the **** that comes out of your mouth.

Already replied to similar sort of dribble, but will do it again in the slim hope it might get through to you.

You said Bevan's innings was even better because of our a difficult pitch which made batting hard. But Bichel made 34 off 36. So how bad was the pitch?

You were trying to glorify Bevan's innings even more but have only just ended up digging yourself into a hole.

Bichel did hit a 6 and 4 though at the end which improved his S/R immensely. Not that I am trying to put down his performance at all because it was exceptional but Bevan was the true hero of the run chase. How often did you see Bevan play and miss? He didn't give England a single chance at all to get him out. That is what counted.

Great effort from both of them.

Just admit you were wrong, we will all forgive you.

:D

Bevan stayed when the others fell away which he needed to do. I'll admit that. But I think Bichel deserves as much praise. He opened his shoulders when he could have become defensive and really relieved much of the pressure from Bevan.

How thick are you, read the posts before making assumptions, u had the ordascity to bag such a great knock, I was just clarifying the difficult batting conditions and if u watched the game u should of realised.
Of course I will glorify his innings when a ******** like yourself tries to downplay it, i think anyone would who seen Bevans innings tonight, it was one of the all time great knocks, just accept it instead of trying to find flaws in his innings. U continously can not be able to give someone credit when it is due and u seem to only want to critiscize other peoples opinions when they do not agree with what u think.
Digging myself into a hole?
I guess any hole for u is a winner Catman.

Read your own posts. In particular that last comment. Little hypocritical, isn't it?

All I said about Bevan's innings was that he started slowly and it put us back a bit and that Bichel deserves as much praise as Bevan.

We wouldn't have won without all of them.

Bevan played well and we wouldn't have won without him but he did leave most of the work to Bichel and Bevan was a bit lucky he stood up to the challenge

If Bichel had got out and then Mcgrath and bevan was not out, but we lost, what would be the feedback then?

Bevan did increase his scoring rate as soon as Bichel came in, as well as gradually increasing his rate of attacking the bowling the further down the order Australia went.

All this while never letting the required run rate get out of control.

Bichel is a capable batsman and a clean hitter, so it was right to let him hit out while making sure Bevan lasted the whole 50 overs. I'm sure Bevan would have gone all out attack had he been batting with McGrath for the last couple of overs.

Remember six runs of ones and twos in an over, is just as effective and usually less risky than a six and five dot balls. Bevan does this to perfection.

As for people blaming Bevan for being too slow to start, why not have a go at the blokes who got out for 22,1,18,0,0, etc. then there would have been no need to bat cautiously for so long.

Dunno, but they were claiming it in desperation in an article in the paper after we beat them in the soccer. Beautiful.
