Did they have similar thoughts on the game?

You should read the review. It's one of the best I've read this year. They gave it 5/10

Just pass the controller?

Cricket is actually a great game to play with as many people as you want. Just designate batsmen and bowlers to different people and go through the order. You only need two controllers for this. It also really stings when you get out then because you are really out of the game for a bit.
Sure, every game can be multi player if you just pass the controller. I just thought it would be fun to have to control the non striker and their running or catching in the outfield.

Yeah and I think in a cricket game 2 controllers is really as much as you would ever need. I can't see much use for having four controller input.

Legit suggestion though, get at least 3 mates together and play. And of course whoever is not batting at the time is 12th man, i.e. drinks bitch.

I've got three kids so it's usually 3 of them playing or 4 if I join them. Minecraft, Rocket League, FIFA are their favourite games due to all being able to play at the same time and they're not old enough for any M rated games yet.

Does not look like its worth its price at all

Difficult to say.
It’s a very good sports arcade game, I think it’s the very first ever attempt at a NBA Jam version of cricket and it’s fairly robust and crafted.

It does seem overpriced, I got at discount, but maybe it’s a complicated issue behind the scenes.

For those who have it -

Is it worth it?

What type of game modes are there? Just a quick match and BBL tournament (Men/Womens)? Can you make your own player and just play as him/her?

I probably wouldn't get it till around Christmas but just would like to know if there is enough in there to make it worth the money, even though I think we can all tell it's overpriced for what it is. If it's just an exhibition/tournament only deal, then I'd probably look at passing on it as I'm sure after a number of tournaments you'd be over it.

BBL tournament only.

However it’s a damn fun game, combined Bradman cricket functions with Jam Session arcade atmosphere.

Pretty damn good but still some lag issues on the switch, they released a good update already that refines the game quite well.

Arguably the most accessible pick up and play cricket game I’ve ever played. Especially on the Switch.

They might do well to release an international version that has one day and test options with even more Bradman cricket functionality.

Big Ant might be on to something with this game. Arcady fun cricket with good depth of functions and graphics, it could be a real way to sell the sport again to people. As cricket has gone through a lull over the past decade. Finding a way to reach a variety of gamers might not be such a bad idea.

Doing Ashes Cricket and This covers a lot of ground.

Also, for *#!k sake, give AFL back to Big Ant!

It’s one of my most played games. This is coming from a pretentious fan of Nintendo games. I tend to only buy well researched games to my tastes.

What would improve the game??

Ashes cricket detail of functionality.

But man, as an arcade sports game it’s damn good. One of the best on the switch. It’s just very AI in terms of outcome of a few skills.

If you don’t want to spend 80 quid, you could wait for a JB voucher or something to get a Nintendo card at discount.

I got it on PS4. Pretty light on but the kids love it. Unlocking stuff takes ages but it's all cosmetic anyway. I won't let them play fortnite so they get to do dance moves on this. Commentary is actually pretty well written even though they didn't get anybody famous doing it. Price is a pinch point but unfortunately I can't see it going down much any time soon going by the AFL game's business strategy.

I grabbed it tonight for $47 on the PS4. I've only played 1 game, it seems okay and could be a lot of fun once I get a hang of the catching and bowling mechanics.

I really wanted to get it on the switch, but the digital download retail copy is a deal breaker for me.

Finally got the game.
Ai fielders are way too good.
Slowly getting better at bowling but I'm still not used to the buttons so I drop a few catches.
Although scores are way too high I understand it since it's arcade.
Running between wickets is pretty hit and miss
Shot animations are pretty poor, looks like they block it and it goes for six.
Find that the ai get way better power ups.

Anyway, it's alright but even at 47 it's a bit high. I think it will be good fun with mates though.
