That was his second one. They missed it earlier when the ball was edged past the keeper to the fence and you could hear him yell "catch it" followed by a muttered "you F***er". I'm sure he was talking about the ball and not Paine

I get home from work and check the cricket on the TV. I see that the Heat scored 6/208. Surely Lynn or Reardon went big. Nope.

414 on the board so far. Captain Christian came off, and the rest scraped together enough despite Forrest stealing a lot of the batting points and Floros stealing some of Christian and Cuttings overs. 750+ from here would make me happy enough.

My captain choices appear to be the kiss of death. 365 with 7 or 8 to come if you inlcude Lynn * 2. Disappointing.

Reasonably happy with my score of 321 from 7. I still have Finch, Zampa, Duffield, Reardon, Lynn x 2, Peirson, Laughlin and Wright left.

I probably would have liked more from Reardon and Lynn though. I certainly got the Peirson over Whiteman selection right.

Kallis as VC a no brainer for Captain. He's 150 odd will more than likely out score any Heat player in my team, even with them playing twice.

Might arse a 600+ score with a bit of luck

Just realized that you and I are are playing each other in a top of the table clash. Your inspired choice of Christian as captain and my failing to notice that Forrest was finally playing has you with a very handy 338-219 lead. I need a big score from Laughlin and Lynn to score much more than Christian in the Heat's second game to have any chance.

I really shot myself in the foot with Forrest. Initialy I emergency loopholed Klinger and Turner and when they failed they were going to be traded out for a Heat batsman and a Heat all rounder. But I didn't think Forrest was playing which would have meant there was no Heat batsman to trade in. So I ended up trading Dunk>Ludeman instead to avoid Dunk's coming price drops. The other trades were Henriques>Christian and Doherty>Duffield. My score would be a lot healthier had I realised Forrest was playing and had Forrest's, Christian's and Dunk's scores instead of Klinger's, Christian's and Ludeman's. Reardon and Wells both being dropped so much further down the batting order was the final nail in the coffin.

I remember this game (Stars v Renegades at Etihad) last year, it was a scorcher of a day and I seem to recall temperatures hitting 50 degrees. Can anybody else remember

I'm in Geelong and the storm clouds are passing over on their way to Melbourne. it's really dark and threatening but no rain yet. The real change isn't expected until around 6am so maybe the game will be okay. I have Wright as well anyway so a washout would only hurt both our totals.

My team name is the same as my SCoach one .... Diamantina Drovers.

Why are you counting Christian as a remaining player for you since I have him as well? Only his score for me matters.

I usually think of 40 points as a pass mark. If all those players scored 40 points each I'd sneak home by 1 point
