Whereas OBL's islamofascism is done solely in the name of his perversion of Islam

You can love somebody and dislike them. I love my brother, but i cant stand to be around him. Same goes with all of my family. I wouldnt want to live with one of my cousins, but if they needed me, id be right there. Except Christianity says you should do that for all people, not just family. I would never harm another human unless in self defense. Thats Christian compassion. One of my favorite stories is when the townsfolk were about to stone a woman for commiting adultery. Jesus said "let ye whithout sin cast the first stone". In Islam, if a woman is r*ped, both the man and woman are stoned. If a girl has sex out of wedlock, she is stoned. These so called "honor killings" are muslim teaching. That is muslim compassion.

But does the old testament not say "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" whilst the new testament says "forgive them that tresspass against us" ?

Which one is correct?, because their is not much compassion with the former.

The old testament was rough because it had to be. Gods people were very lazy and ignorant. According to the Bible, Jesus came to tell the world that this was no longer needed. That loving God is more important than following the letter of the law.

There were no Christians in Sodom and Gommorah. But God destroyed it more as a symbol than as actual punishment

Hey, even the Jews cant deny it. If you read the old testament, its hard not to just break down and laugh at how crazy some of the things they did were. God had to be rough. They had the attention span of two year olds. I have a couple of Jewish friends who are still like this. :D

In a sense, yes. My mother is, and the rest of her family is, including my brothers. I however decided that I wanted to follow my fathers religion, Orthodoxy. He converted to Orthodoxy as a young man, and wanted someone to carry on the tradition. Now that hes dead, I want to obey his wishes. I attend a Baptist church at the moment though, so I would say I am both. Why do you ask?

Because in your posts you sound like a person brought up among the Southern Baptists,especially when u say "all religions,except Christianity,come from the Devil".Not that i'm against the Baptists at all,it's just the way they are think.

Indeed he does. When we get around to the thread which asks which Christian sect is the least Christian, most dangerous and most prone to completely misusing the bible ... I vote Southern Baptist.

Too often religions are just a handy veneer which allows small-minded ignoramuses to spout clap-trap and claim that their views should not be challenged. The opinions come frst and then the religion is 'massaged' to fit. For a religion which is supposed to love everyone the Southern Baptists have sure condemned a lot of people to hell.

Rumsfeld wasnt secretary of defense until after the vietnam war. You need to brush up on your history. Before he became Secretary of Defense in 1975(two years after we fully left Vietnam) he was the Director of the Office of Economic Opportunity. Hardly in a position to order bombings of anything. :rolleyes:

Actually, if you read the Bible, The Southern Baptist are the closest to what the Bible actually says. In fact, the problem that I have with them is that they are too literal. They dont read between the lines. The Muslims have condemned a lot more people to hell than the Southern Baptist Convention.

Again, Hitler did not do what he did in the name of Christianity. He was not a fundamentalist believer, nor were his cohorts.

Unlike OBL and co. The comparison is misplaced.

What the two do have in common, however, is their facism and their paranoia about the jews.
