I might start a Bird Nerds thread on one the General Discussion board to see if there's more Bird lovers out there on BF?

Any objections? I don't want to be hunted down for stealing this pages wonderful idea!
Go for it!

Link this thread too if you think bird nerd types might like to visit here also

This is the way, Bostonian! Your images are awesome, and as many people as possible should see them.

It's a great hobby.

Went to walk the dog, this young fella was just chilling on the ground. Let me get right next to him but my boy wanted a sniff so he flew up into the tree.still getting his wings under him.

How cool. I had never seen a young one that was just learning to fly before. Completely different colour to when their adults.

They can be so hard to see by day - their plumage is designed so well to blend with the bark of their preferred trees and they are generally motionless during the day (other than juveniles working on their wing muscles obviously)

This one came to say hi.
BIrdbath is full of nice cool water and we gave it pumpkin seeds so hopefully it comes visit again!!
They are so lovely! We had a pair come visit occasionally but I’ve just moved this week so they probably won’t come with me.

Some New Holland honeyeaters turned up in the bottle tree out the front of my house. Tinted glass helped me creep up on them but dulled the pictures.

Managed to see a Gang Gang on my walk to work this week. In the 15 odd years of being in Canberra can't recall seeing one in the flesh before.
There used to be lots a Canberra when I was growing up. They are so lovely

Saw a few nice parrots getting a feed near Parliament House this morning.

Apologies my phone camera is a bit of a potato; they were much more brightly coloured that this shows

Very jealous!

Gang Gangs imo are the nicest of all the Cockatoos. Not that noisy and let you watch them for as long as you like if you don't get right up next to them.

Maybe the other two are King Parrots? Males are the red and females the green.

Yeah pretty sure they were King Parrots. Pics came out very dark. Seeing a lot of them around Canberra atm, and a few rosellas.
