A book. That way you can write a personal message inside and she will always know its from you.

There's a lot of good bookstores around selling rare books. I bought me an A.C. Clarke first edition published in the 70's for dirt cheap. For a sci-fi fan, that would have been a great gift to have received.

Arghhh, I hate buying birthday presents for people, getting to an age where just chucking then a $20/$50 note are over.

Males are easy as I usually buy them something to do with short.
Girls are difficult, usually I get a friend of the girls to pick something that she would like and just pay for it, lazy I know.

A bloke I work with (in classic Homer Simpson/BowlingBall style) bought his wife a variable-speed-jigsaw for her birthday and couldn't understand why we all thought he'd be a dead man.

He was still mystified the next day why he was in the shit at home for what he thought was a really good deal.

So...... strike power tools off your list....... just a suggestion.

Fantastic idea. :thumbsu:

Myer/David Jones gift card. It's the lazy option.

My friend is hitting the big 30 this weekend and I have no idea what to buy her for a present  Any suggestions/ideas, especially from the ladies out there? Happy to spend up to $50.

I'm a lady! And I'm turning 30 next year (:() too wouldnt you believe.

Er... well it depends on what she likes!!! I myself would love gift vouchers, bottle of wine, flowers, jewellery (check what type- gold or silver she wears first), book or football stuff.

If you're really really unsure, I would just go the voucher... probably a Coles Myer one. That way she can get just about anything.

Oh movie vouchers are good too!! Good luck.
