I am sitting here in the Internet Cafe at Tokyo airport waiting for a plane back to Australia. I was just looking at the dining guide and under American restaurants they have "The Outback Bar".

I'm goin' to the States in November and my yank step-daughter the other day wanted to know if I'd like to go for a night out at the Outback Steakhouse.

I hate when other countries (often the USA) steal our names and so-called 'image' for kitschy products. The 'Outback Steakhouse' has several chains here in Korea and is popular amongst Western ex-pats. It decorated top to bottom with kitsch, tacky items and slang supposedly associated with Australia, the menu with its supposedly Australian slang is absolutely cringeworthy.

That said, they do cook bonza steaks which are hard to come by here, I'm most likely going to hit the frog and toad and head there tonight for some steak and bloomin' onions, mate! ;)
