Isn't it interesting how Blighty keeps denying he said he'd never coach again. In the Tiser today (Friday 16/3/01) he's quoted as saying "I didn't say I'd NEVER coach again ... I said I did not have any plan to coach - and I didn't. Not until St Kilda presented a challenge that excited me."
Quoting Blight from the Tiser (15th Jul 1999): "I always said I would not be coaching at 50. It's turned out that way."
Also from the same paper: "Blight told players of his intentions yesterday morning, saying he would not coach again after their campaign ends in September."
In the Tiser of 27th August, 1999, he's also quoted from his resignation press conference: "I am burnt out. The game has got me. I have nothing left to give. MALCOLM BLIGHT AND FOOTBALL ARE PARTING COMPANY (my caps)."
Deny it any way you can Malcolm...we know the truth.
