I wasn't going to do a mock draft this year but couldn't help my-self. I haven't done my reasoning of why I have players going here. And there because thing can change would like some feedback. And if there's a player you think your team will take. I am not too sure on what teams need please enjoy
ROUND 1
1.GWS-LACHLAN WHITFIELD
Whitfield, is a classic midfielder that you could build your team around. Who's decission making is top class, which complements his ballhandling skills, off both sides of his body by hand and foot. He is also great overhead and he's marking is fantastic. He also has elite speed and great endurence he won the Larke Medal as the best player at the Under-18s Championships.
2.GWS-JIMMY TOUMPAS
Toumpas, has terrific pace and seems to be able to find the ball in space he is great at clearences and has fantastic leadership skills. He has great skills off both sides of his body by hand and foot. He loves the contested football and just seems to influrence games.
3.MELB-BRODIE GRUNDY
Grundy, is athletic ruckman who comes from a basket ball background which helps in his ruckwork he can go forward and kick goals. Is good below his knees and has a long penatrating kick. Is great at hitouts to adventage and seems to find his teammate at stoppagers. Is a good mark overhead but it does need work could be the number 1 ruckman from day one.
4.MELB-JONOTHAN O'ROUKE
O'Rouke, is a medium midfielder with elite pace who has great endurence, who knocks up getting the ball and uses it well in heavey traffic, he's clearence work is awesome. He has a lot to work with as he can play the inside and outside game that most teams are looking for.
5.WB-JACKSON MACREA
Macrea, is an outstanding outside midfielder, who has elite pace can break the lines and goes forward and kicks goals. Is good at winning ball below his knees and goes in for the hard ball and can find a teamate where there doesn't seem to be with his elite kicking skills. He somehow avolds the tackle and find space where there isn't any.
6.WB-JAKE STRINGER
Due to injury most people have forgoten how good this kid is. Stringer, is an athletic tall KPP who can play at both ends of the ground who excels at outmarking his oppent no matter what end of the field he's playing. He has fantastic kicking skills and elite pace which I don't think he's lost due to his leg injury. and another string to his bow ( no pun intended) is that his a complement midfielder in his own right.
7.PA-SAM MAYES
Mayes is an athletic forward that can push into the midfield, who has pace that amazes me (once again no pun intended) his kicking is elite in fact it could be the best in the draft, which is why he plays so well up forward and can influrence a game of his own boot. When playing midfield loves the contested football and will be one to watch for the future.
8.BL-OLIVER WINES
Ollie wines has a mature body that's just ready for AFL football, he plays elite inside football and loves the contested ball. Has great goal sense and just knows where the goals are is capable of playing that medium forward role at AFL level but is better suited to a midfield role.
9.RICH-DAYLE GARLETT
Highly skilled left-foot wingman/forward who has had his fairshare of off field problems but has a lot of talent is extreamly quick and good in traffic. Loves to run with the ball and take on his oppent. Is smart around goals and even though he doesn't get much of the football when he does get it he uses it extreamly well.
10.ESS-JOE DANIHER
A highly talented ruckman/forward who has the potential to be just as good as anyone in this draft. He has a brilliant left-foot kick, extreamly good at marking the football on a lead and has strong hands, highly athletic for some of his size. A very capable ruckman who is fantastic at kicking goals and showed just that at the last game of the Under-18 Championships against WA.
11.CARLTON-KRISTIAN JAKSCH
Tall forward/defender who is extremely strong overhead great marking key forward who is great on the lead and uses the ball well by foot when in defence. Makes good decisions with the ball ,shows excellent vision and is a strong spoiler.”
12.GWS-TOM CLUREY
A strong bodied tall defender, that reads the play well. can play the shut down role on opposition forwards, while also providing good rebound from defence. Has very good endurence and a strong body in a marking contest.
13.GCS-LACHLAN PLOWMAN
Best defender in the draft. Who has elite marking skills and seems to know where the ball is going and outmarks the opposition player. His shutdown skills are awesome, but is not only densively minded but he is a great rebounding player as well. He's kicking skills are good but could improve more . Could also play midfield and play that tall midfield role not unlike Brandon goddard.
14.GWS-NICK VLASTUIN
Medium midfielder/defender who is courageous at the ball and smashes his body into contests with no regard on the safty on his body and wins the contested ball. Also is a tackling machine, and adds great rebound from the backline.
15.NM-BEN KENNEDY
Kennedy is a small forward/midfielder who has elite speed and a prolific possession winner is dynamite at clearences and extremly dangerous around goals.
16.GEELONG-TROY MENZEL
Menzel, a sublimely talented forward-midfielder who has excepetional goal sense both on the run and with sets shots. Injury has really, knocked this kid around but he has not lost any of his talent. Showed so in the Under-18 Championships, in kicking 9 goals against Tasmania and also kicking 6 goals against NT before injury hit him once again but recruiters know how talented this kid is and someone will give him a chance. Brother of Daniel
17.Fremantle-MASON SHAW
Mason suffered a broken jaw early in the season, but kicked 8.4 in his comeback game for the Clots and hasen't looked back. He is a tall athletic forward who is good on the lead with strong hands and great at contested marks. Although he doesen't get much of the ball he uses it fluently and from to possessions could kick 5goals 5. Wasn't at he's best at the championships as he just cameback from injury.
18COLLINGWOOD-NATHAN WRIGHT
Medium midfielder/defender who attacks the ball with aggression and . Strong and courageous in the air, he also excels at clearences . And loves the physical side of the game, winning contested ball and tackles strongly.
19.COLLINGWOOD-MATTHEW HAYNES
A classy forward/midfielder who breaks the lines is good in traffic, But cool under pressure has a good football brian. Likes the contested ball and is extreamly quick. Is good overhead with very good marking skills, kicking could use work but is still pretty good and will improve.
20.ADELAIDE JESSE LONGERGAN
Tough medium midfielder who attacks the ball aggressively and is clean with his ball handling and distribution. Has explosive power and is very competitive, always showing great intensity around the contest and strong second efforts. Nephew of Essendon midfielder Sam Lonergan.
21.COLLINGWOOD-TIM MEMBREY
Medium forward who has strong hands and is good on a lead, with accurate goal kicking skills has a penatrating kick, showed he had the capabities to play midfield in the under 18 Championships
22.WB-SAM COLQUHOUN
Small midfielder who is a brilliant reader of the play, who racked up big numbers for SA at the Championships showing great run out of the backline. He played predominantly as a winger in the reserves for SANFL club Central District and still got plenty of the ball.
23.SS-JOSH SIMPSON
Medium midfielder/forward who is exciting with his natural speed and agility. Dangerous player around goals and very capable overhead for a player of his size.
24.BL-TANNER SMITH
Tall defender who has good closing speed and reads the game extremely well coming into the opposition forward line. Makes good decisions on when to mark or spoil and provides good run from defence. Has shown ability to go forward and have an impact. Stood tall for Vic Country in AFL U18s this year matching up well on the oppositions best forwards.

Good of you to go to effort but a mock without explanations is like watching a porno with the bits fuzzed out it just takes away the good stuff.

you don't where do you see the Bulldogs taking him and who eles would they take in the draft will update it when I have the change
I just think that there are probably better players around that pick. Somone like Atkins or Hrovat perhaps.

Gold coast have said that they will bid on viney, so viney will go at 3
Show me where they've said that and I'll eat my hat (there was some fluff piece on HS or whatever with no quotes, just the usual "may", "could", "believed" etc rubbish). They won't risk a top 2 pick on him, but there's a whole thread on that...
Oh and Melbourne have officially said that they won't take him at 3, so he will go at 2 or 26, not 3, unless something changes.

When did they say that?

Melbourne can say anything they like, then they'll take Viney at 3.

There's no chance Melbourne would pass up Kennedy for Vlastuin at 13.

Don't be surprised if there are some eyebrow-raising trades between Melbourne and GC re: Caddy after GC don't bid on Viney.

I have you picking Vlastuin because I have you all ready taking Mayes but in the real draft you could take Kennedy.

I don't think there's a chance Melbourne would pass on Wines for O'Rourke. Also you have Melbourne at pick 3, and haven't listed Fremantle at pick 17.

Other than that, it's good. Love the Bulldogs Selections.

Disagree, they already have the inside midfielder in Viney, under the father son rule adding O'Rouke, really complements their list . Could see them take Wines in the real draft but went for something different and personaly I rate O'Rouke higher then Wines.
