Now I'm worried. I had a superstitous shudder when we beat the Tigers. I thought to myself "well that reverses the round one result". And then it struck me-the Eagles were going to be hard to beat, but the Blues looked like easy meat...it was all going to be the reverse of the first eight rounds.

Sure enough we have reversed the result of each corresponding match from rd 1-6. We have to break this streak or we'll just sneak in to the 8, instead of sailing in fourth.

I have confidence in Malthouse's ability to jolt the players out of the skanky form we've drifted into. I don't think there's too much wrong with the team, just the odd lurking injury and a loss of concentration.

Take McGough against the Dons. The kid stormed into the centre and snagged the ball from the ruck duel 4 or 5 times in the first quarter, showing great judgement and courage, but each time he coughed it up with a poor handball or shanked kick. He's obviously busting a gut getting the ball, and all he needs is a tweak to his form to start burning again. Cole had the same malaise vs the Hawks. Although they look right down, I reckon they ain't far off a return to form.

The forwards are really down at the moment. I thought Tarrant woke up a bit vs the Don's, but he couldn't buy a break. Maybe Molloy would straighten them up a bit? No doubt there's a solution. I reckon we'll turn it around against the Saints because despite the bad results, we aren't a bad side, we're just slumping at the wrong time.

The "blueprint" theory should be broken this week.

If they didn't know last week, they sure as hell should know this week; it is time to pull the finger out!

I'd normally try to find a technical reason for our poor performances, but it is simpler than that. We are not having a go. We are not running in support of our teammates and providing options. Our mentallity must improve from "we've made it" to "now it's time to prove something"!
