Terry wallace said today he'd trade blumfield for a late round draft pick if offered. Do you think we'll go for this?

I havent had much chance to see him play, but from what im aware he's had a ******** 2 seasons due to injury/form and was suppose to be good sometime before that?

any thoughts???

(and im not trying to say we SHOULD get him before arguments start... just discuss)

Not to sure on that one but I think we should have a crack at rodan who has been delisted if reports are correct. Stafford would be a great pick up as well.

Everyone who keeps track of football knows Rodan has not been delisted , whether he's up trade is another matter.
Rodan looks alot quicker than he is and has a tendency to move sidewards rather than forwards and thus never really break the lines with his run.
I'd probably give him a miss.

I'm unsure about Blumfield's value now despite Nixon talking him up in the paper today , I'd have to say he'd be too much of a risk.

I think that if you are delisted from Richmond that that speaks for its self. I don't think they would be getting rid of anyone with any potential moving forward into the future.

A few years ago Sheedy realised he had the same problem we have now. A lot of medium pacers in the midfield. The difference between Essendon and Collingwood is that Essendon can get a return for the plyers they decide are in their future because they recognise it early and build value in these players for the trade.

It's called professionalism.

We need Blumfield less than we need O'Bree.

i was a fan of blumfield when he was at essendon....his time at richmond has been woeful, glad he is gone from there, im hoping he gets another crack somewhere else, but i dont think it should be at collingwood

Hoggy you are a sick man, i like it!maybe a straight trade for Blumfield with Shaw. Thats the only trade rumour i feel is worth anything. Wallace likes him, he has said that in his commentating on numerous occasions and i think hed rather that than a late pick.

id rather keep shaw.

kids been given more criticism than he deserved, he had a fairly good 2nd half of the season, when he was given chances that is.

trust me i think shaw is a gun in his own unique way, i just think he is being wasted and as said in the press "humiliated by Mick malthouse". He is one of the hardest working, most enthusiatic guys you will see in afl football. He has limited skill but maximum heart. I love the guy and thats why id prefer to see him getting a proper run and i really hope thats at the pies.

i think that whole "humiliated" thing was a joke.

how "humiliating" can it be to be brought on in the last minute of the game, when there is 1 point seperating the two sides?

is it not possible mick malthouse thought he'd bring on some pace, just in case we might get a chance to pinch it.

imagine the ball spilt to rhyce shaw into some space, and he went for a run and passed it off to tarrant inside 50.

wouldnt be so embarrassing then would it? shaw would be a hero, and malthouse would be praised for the move.

I wasnt referring to rd 22 humiliation, sorry prob shouldnt have used the quote. I think Shaw is treated very badly by Mick in whole. I often see Shaw get on the field run to a contest, to another, get a kick, and then with in a few minutes is dragged again.

that is true, but at the same time he was given chances when most people didnt want him to be. ie. early on in the season we all wanted him dropped when he was performing very very average, yet mick kept him in the side.

i think rhyce is aware of this, and probably grateful, too bad no one else realises this, including his uncle.
