Mora is the man. It is not just about being a blunt object; they are easy to get. It is about being a jet propelled blunt object. Between Mora, Sylvia, Grey and Ballard we will have some options.

What I want to see is the kind of skills Simpson have being applied in the backline. Impey looks like a very exciting weapon who can take on the best small forwards and make them nervous.

Who exactly are these blunt objects from Port? They are a team of lithe runners. They don't really have many bullocking players at all. Wines is the closest. Ebert is fairly big, but is more a runner. We have them well and truly covered for brute force. I actually expect that in a final, the likes of Freo, Sydney and Hawthorn will physically dominate Port in the clinches.

Yeah, probably a fair call on Port. Wines and Boak are probably their biggest weapons from a hard-hitting midfield nugget perspective, but the Hawks definitely have an imposing running brigade.

Port's skills and overlap run, and their pressure around the ball are a big part of why they won.

Their hands in tight were very good, and they held onto the ball when those quick handballs came their way. Our guys hands aren't at that level. A lot of skills work still to be done.

Skills, pace, run, pressure and commitment were why they won.

Not enforcers.

Less blunt object, more knife.

Gave a joiner a pile of Wandoo years ago to make kitchen cupboards, bathroom cabinet etc.
Bloke did a great job but said never again.Blunted every tool that touched it and the glue wouldn't even penetrate it.
Steel wood;so yeah Sandi the 125 kg Wandoo sleeper works as Tonga Bob 's little montage testifies.

I used to have a lot of fun with city folk when chopping wood with an axe.

I'd be slicing through Jarrah like butter and give them a piece of Wandoo to cut.

Axe would just bounce off.

Yeh although you need a measure of toughness, run and skill is more important. Look at Kane Mitchell he has run and toughness but on several occassions his lack of kicking skills was exposed but they still won because he was one of very few coughing it up.

Hawthorn load their backline with elite kickers which are very hard to stop if you do want they want and bomb a quick kick into their spare man. But they are vulnerable to running rebound themselves, especially with rioli out as it leaves Smith and Hill as the only real line breakers they have. Problem is they have also improved their clearances this year so no longer rely on you giving iit to them on the half back line. Port won this time but in a rematch at the MCG with more Hawthorn players back...

My neighbour played that prank on me. Bet me a carton beer I couldn't split it with 3 strokes of the axe. Like you say, the axe just bounced off it.

We've got this guy...

Holy moly, how did he not get suspended for playing football whilst being a deadly weapon or some such? Also, how did he get down far enough to not completely knock their heads off?
