Two vie for Blues board - Herald Scum

From The Age. Board challenge looms for Blues Jake Niall (no link)
Asked if the AFL was concerned about the state of Carlton's finances, Demetriou said: "Yes, and the Carlton Football Club has been pretty upfront about the position they're in and been very transparent and has a willingness to address the issue. If we can help them, we will.

"They've got some problems they inherited and they've also got the legacy of some very hefty penalties. On the one hand. it's very difficult for them to make inroads into their debt, which is very large and added to that is they're not winning football games.

"Their problems won't be solved just by winning football games. They've got a large debt, which they're prepared to tackle and work with us and we'll work with them to see if we can address that issue, because they're a very proud football club, they're a great football club and we want Carlton to be successful again."

You don't still blame Demetriou for the state we're in, do you? Fact is, we deserved to be punished. His tone towards us might have changed over the years, but he's the cheif now. What else would you expect him to say?

Personally, I don't see what the problem is...

If he really cared about the club and wanted us to be successful he wouldn't have fined us to the tune of $930,000 when we were skint.

The board elections are the important issue and that's what I thought you were responding to with under the bridge comment. There's plenty of discussion on this issue ;) and it should be covered on here if they haven't seen the news.

Sounds very much like Dickie Pratt wants to come on Board. He has plenty of worries on his plate with Vizy so CFC must be in deep manure if that is the case.

Is there any chance Pratt can acquire equity in CFC by some means or other?
Would this be acceptable to members if it means financial stability can be restored quickly?

Pratt won't get involved, he has too many worries of his own at the present.

Its waynes fault. He is a South Australian who HATED CALRTON. The penalties were an example to other clubs and were totally unacceptable. They should have been appealed or challenged but collins was proteceting his dome,( business image) interests.

Audas, I'm starting to like you, stop it.

Audas, that's very succinct.:thumbsu:
The penalties were draconian and belligerent, we should have contested them.
Sadly no one had the balls, for one reason or another and they got their scapegoat.

Now we need a board that's able to evolve, be dynamic, flexible, and creative. That's the issue.
Ciao
