First guy since Grant Hill 7 years ago to record 3 straight triple doubles. He pulled a Ricky Davis on this one though

"Sura had 22 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds -- the last rebound coming when he intentionally missed a layup just before the buzzer and grabbed his own rebound. Sura smiled sheepishly, as if a little embarrassed by the way he accomplished his feat."

Id be bloody embarrassed as well

Pathetic

Ricky Davis tried the same thing against Utah last season, and got a hard foul for his troubles

Bob Sura, what a loser

Except Ricky Davis went for Utah's basket, whereas Sura missed the layup on his own basket. Regardless, it takes the shine off the feat.

Bowie needed one assist for a triple-double.

The Magic called a timeout with 1.5 seconds left, to make a play to get Bowie his assists.

The opposition coach, Doug Collins, didn't take too kindly to this, so he instructed his players to walk to the locker room as soon as the play started.

So Bowie got his assist, but there was no opposition on the court.

Collins was fined $5000.

I remember that. Seriously, what sour grapes.

Sura had a tremendous game, who is going to begrudge him a final rebound, even if he gains it like he did? People will remember how he got it and downgrade it's significance, but why hold it against him anyway?

Not really the same as throwing it at his own basket, ala Ricky.

Whilst petty, the NBA made the right move.

For a rebound to be awarded, a genuine shot attempt must be made. Bobby just stood there and tapped it against the bottom corner of the backboard.

McGrady didn't get a rebound when he threw the ball off the backboard then dunked it.

What a disgrace, fancy tapping it against the bottom corner of the backboard...

Triple-double or no triple-double, Robert Ignatius Sura is still the 2nd most exciting white fella in the NBA.

And really, you don't need a triple-double to be a great player, and conversely a triple-double doesn't make you a great player. Anthony Bowie, come on...
