Bock was drunk and play fighting with mates, something happened to piss of his girlfriend, she slapped him, he tipped beer on her.

There was no property damage, the only damage was to his girlfriends handbag.

Some people are saying he gave her a push after the slap as well, but not sure on that. This is all coming from 5AA.

That is all we got so far

Bloody hell,

Might keep him this week, cop a zero then wait for Hodge, Embley drop in price;)

Mmm didn't think about that, could be a good idea. I'll probably just trade him for Lockyer but something to think about over the next few days.

This is a big problem.

Bock is a player I thought of as a keeper and capable of hitting the magic 150 mark at least once during the season.

I would say 2 week and that is just too long. Cash doesn't make interest in dreamteam. You are forced to invest.

Looks like the best option is to trade him straight to Harding.

(Full press release) Statement from the Adelaide Football Club

Further to the Adelaide Football Club’s notification yesterday regarding Nathan Bock, it advises that it has undertaken a comprehensive investigation of its own and concluded that Nathan was involved in an incident, involving inappropriate behaviour.

Nathan today made this statement at a press conference at the Club:

“Firstly and foremost, I deeply regret my actions on Saturday night and wish to apologise to my girlfriend Carlie, and to her family for any embarrassment and hurt I have caused them. I also apologise to my family and friends, the Adelaide Football Club its players, staff, sponsors and supporters. I am deeply disappointed in my behaviour and acknowledge the fact that as an Adelaide Football Club player, we are looked upon as role models in the community and I will endeavour to regain any respect I have lost. The players of the Adelaide Football Club have fully supported the AFL’s Respect and Responsibility Program and I have let them down in that area.

The course of action put together by the Club and the players is something I will adhere to and make the utmost effort to change my behaviour in these situations.

It is out of character for me, and I accept the fact that I need to do some work in the areas of managing my behaviour when drinking, to ensure that I don’t get myself in this type of position again.”

Nathan was out late and intoxicated, and whilst in this state was involved in an incident which led to him being arrested and charged with assaulting his girlfriend.

These actions are not tolerated by the Club and in particular the playing group.

Although Nathan has apologised, the Club believes that the following course of action should be undertaken to ensure that there is a behaviour change on Nathan’s behalf.

Nathan will be directed to attend a family violence men’s behaviour program and counselling in anger management/use of alcohol and relationship matters. .
Nathan will attend 50 hours of Community Service.
He will be fined $5,000 net which we would direct to the relevant organisations.
Nathan will be unavailable for selection until he actions the program outlined. In short, that means missing this weekend versus Fremantle and being assessed thereafter as to when he returns to playing.

The Adelaide Football Club is extremely disappointed in what has happened but it is committed to supporting and ensuring Nathan’s rehab in the areas advised above, as that will be the best result for Nathan and his partner.

As stated previously, the Adelaide Football Club and in particular its players strongly support a firm stance against any violence towards women. We underline our commitment to the Respect and Responsibility program, and to ensuring that there are no further incidents of this type in the future.

Looks like two weeks out then - would otherwise be a sustainable injury but with the state of 09 backlines already......

Glad to hear AFC are taking this seriously - if he has acknowledged this, it is completely unaceptable behaviour.

Unfortunate outcome for my DT, but real life trumps DT.

Agree with that. This is something he needs to address.

Hopefully he can come back in a couple of weeks. I need either him or McMahon to be named, otherwise I will be copping a zero for a few weeks. Bock will definitely get his spot back, McMahon is less likely so I might end up trading him out.
