Does he?

Other than his ACL he usually misses through suspension, not injury......until this year. Last year missed with form......not injury.

Since his debut in 2003 this will be the 5th season he has played 16 games or less so yeah he has missed a lot of footy through injury.

Article was published today - this morning, thus it would have been submitted after the teams were announced. Obviously whoever wrote this garbage didn't bother to check that Kreuzer isn't in the team.

3. Is Michael Hurley the wildcard of this final?

He's never played a final.

Wrong. He had 13 disposals, 5 marks, 6 tackles and 1 free against in Adelaide's 96-point win in 2009.

Article is poor. Edit: Written by Martin Blake. Yikes. He might pose questions but don't ask him for the right answers.

Oh....I'm sorry.....didn't realise that if you play 16 or less the only reason has to be injury.

My mistake. What is the cut-off "games played" for form and suspension, so I won't make the same mistake twice?

To be fair, Essendon didn't really 'play' in that final:eek:

Just to reinforce the point:

2007 - 22 games
2008 - 21 games
2009 - 9 games (all until ACL)
2010 - 16 games (form and suspension)
2011 - 12 games (fine until current injury)

That would seem to support the statement:
Other than his ACL he usually misses through suspension, not injury......until this year. Last year missed with form......not injury.
would it not?

and certainly would not back up:
He (Waite) has a shaky record of durability

or
yeah he has missed a lot of footy through injury
Bring your A game........this is finals.

Huge pressure on this guy...like the whole teams success rides on Hurley....lol

We will see who is laughing out loud about it on sunday :)

Hurls thrives under pressure, usually does his best work under the pump so im not afraid of the pressure that will be on him.

Who do you think will get the job on him? Hendo or an underdone Jamieson?

No one is doubting Hurley, would love him in a Blues jumper. It's more the attitude that because Essendon have Hurley that they'll be right, when in reality he looked dangerous in the last match but you still got smashed.

I assume by getting smashed in the our last match you mean vs Carlton! If so keep in mind fletch, Watson and hocking didn't play. Plus we lost Pears at half time..

The injury shoe is definitely on the other foot now. Jamieson is definitely under done plus there is no Waite or kruezer..

I also found it a bit hypocritical that you mentioned our whole teams fortunes rest on Hurley, before this year you guys were the biggest one man team I've seen in a long long time...

Really dude, try winning a game with out your captain and then you can talk. We have more good players than the Dons and that is why we will win.

It will be close to half time then we will folg you.

finger crossed :D

i think people seem to forget that Jamieson and waite didn't play against them last time and we still won. You can tell Judd has been saving himself for this week, just going through the motions the last couple of weeks. He will rip it up this week even with the Hocking back pack on !!

The person i think is going to stand up this week is Warnock. He has a big role to play this week. Hille will try and bash him around but he has to stand strong this week.

And i will give you the hot tip now, Jamieson will play forward this week.

Go blues!

Bit nervous

This is the area the Dons need to win to win this game IMO.

In the first few weeks of the year Hille and Ryder were amazing......the archetype of the modern ruck duo. Since then they have both been lucky that there is a lack of depth or both would have been on their way up the Calder for lengthy periods.

IF........if they can recpature some form, especially Hille, then we could have a problem. Warnock has accounted for them fairly well the last 3 games, and should do so again.

Yes.....they will trouble our defenders with their talls......high risk strategy on an open, windswept and possibly wet MCG. They will have trouble with our smalls.

The way I see it Warnock and Setanta should do enough to give Murphy, Judd, Ellard and Carazzo first use of the ball. It comes down to how well we convert early as to how long the Bombers hang in the match.

Beat Watson, win the stoppages and the game is nearly done.

Hurley to be helping in defense by half time.

BTW, for those questioning OUR clubs medical management.......Hurley HAS a hot spot......they are NOT going to win a flag this year. Egan, Croad, Rocca.........almost Hird (lucky his bone graft worked).

Why risk adding Hurley to that list?

Pears........fractured tibia in our last encounter......played 2 weeks later.

Questions should be asked.

Hurley's hot spot has been getting better over the last 6 weeks. It's healing.

Why wouldn't you play him in the finals if he's ok to play H&A?

Sorry, my mistake. He hasn't missed any footy with it, has been training the house down and the "hot spot" is of no concern.

Sorry, my bad.:thumbsu:

Jamison and Waite didn't play last time either? So you'll be facing the same side minus Kreuzer. I forgot though Essendon are the only side with injuries.:thumbsu:
Hypocritical? I pointed out the attitude of Essendon supporters that if Hurley fires you'll win, if I was to pick your most important I'd have gone with Watson.
