BOTTENS was brilliant today for the catters, very strong hands up forward

reckon u have finally found ur forward structure

BOTTENS, Mooney, N.Ablett the three talls

kingsley should go when S.Johnson comes back

hope u can steal the saints spot in the eight

Go BOTTENS & the catters

Ottens was very good today. When King is playing he gives us a good target up at full forward since we have Can't Kicksley and N.Ablett who is still a few years away. Mooney is the only other tall that kicks goals week in wee out and he cant do it all by himself.

Probably the first game I have seen him earn his full pay packet.

Remarkable... must be the thinner air in Subi.

We should shift some of our home games over their. :)

Yeah. It was good seeing Ottens do well the last three weeks. I hope that it annoys the media, because they have refused to give him any credit. If Brad Ottens played for a club the media liked, he would get more credit. So all of Ottens critics (some of our own supporters, the media, some Richmond supporters) can go and jump.:)

To the detractors, you mustn't have been seeing the last 3 Cats games. Ottens has been superb in the ruck. Remember, he had no pre-season. Injuries to his hand, (even thinking of removing part of a finger), and his groin has hampered his season. Most have said that the last two years have been fairly average for Otto, but I'll tell you this. He came to the Cats probably the most underprepared and underdeveloped player going around at the club. It will take him at least 2-3 years to get the development back up, therefore late this year and early next he will be a force if he isn't injured.

Playing him in the 50m arc lets Mooney, N Ablett (Who is ready now, play him. He leads extremely well, just the delivery is disappointing at times, plus he never gives up like Kingsley) and to a lesser extent Kingsley have poorer defenders. This give the team a great opportunity to win contests inside the 50.

Ottens was great.

He's been good this year, probably BOG against the Bulldogs.

Can anyone name 10 players that have been better for us than him this year?

I'll try:

Bartel
Corey
Mooney
G Ablett
Scarlett
Rooke
Chappy

That's be it I reckon. Any others would be borderline.

Add Milburn, Egan stong overhead and unassuming

Yeah, dunno that you could say either has been definitively better. Milburn hasn't been as good as he has in the past few years and Egan had a few shockers although his past couple have been good.

My point is that the Big O would be in our ten best players this season. For a bloke who didn't have a preseason, that's a bloody good effort.

Nice to see Brad put in a strong effort up forward finally - perhaps some of the knockers might shut up a little. He's definitely been among our most consistent players this season, even if this is his game where he's made an impact on the scoreboard.

Love to keep him in the forward line permanently even though he's done some great jobs in the ruck. Get behind him...all of you...all of you.

I think Milburn has been solid all year, where as Ottens hasn't really played well EVERY game.
Remember Milburn was put into the forward line for a few games where he didn't have as much impact. And Egan had a few shockers, but only when we were ALL down on confidence and we ALL weren't playing that well.
Don't get me wrong Ottens is doing great.. but not every game.

I tipped it :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

First game I tipped against Geelong all year

I think I might do this more often :D

Oh yeah and Ottens definitely earned his pay packet yesterday. He has been strong all year and we have definitely needed him with King out. By looking at this you can see that King is the key to our side. Well, maybe not just King, but there are vital players to our structure that allow us to play the style of footy that Thompson has been trying to play for a while...

It is strange though, we did have our full side back for the Collingwood game. Fitness was a big problem there I believe. And not being mentally ready.

Hahahah, LOL, as if id do something stupid and tip Geelong! :D

I meant I tipped Hawthorn to beat Bitchmond. I think that twas the game the other guy was referring to.

Yeah, that's why I tipped us against WC, looked good for a while. But the interstate thing got me here. I didn't bring the Freo factor into this one. I thought being a Geelong fan was bad enough not knowing what was going to happen one week to the next, but I feel for Freo fans.

Oh yeah, I must have just skimmed a little too quickly, didn't realise you were quoting JUBJUB.
