We sold 128 last year. Aiming for 140 this year.

79 have been sold. The percentage sold looks too much like the Saints' disposal efficiency this year.

Appalled? Clearly you guys are very immature on this board, including two so called moderators, I'm out of here, good luck with your wishful thinking, uninformed banter. Stick your head in the sand and think alls good at our beloved club, you will see it slip into oblivion whilst SW is coach, although funnily enough they may win this weekend.
I'm sure you are very well informed living in Qld, right on the cutting edge.

Yo Brian, don't bail dude. If you reckon he's wrong, let him know but, in my Rookie opinion, these boards work precisely by disagreements. The reason I hang around here is to read the dually excellent although often opposing analysis and opinions that, especially when it gets a bit heated, can really offer insight into the side, where we're at and where we need to go.

Well said Tombowler. The moderators here don't want to oust Brian. We truly appreciate a lot of his insights. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and informed opinion is probably closer to the truth than uninformed opinion. The problem is when opinion is presented as truth.

I also have an issue with some of the casual disrespect shown. Our senior coach is a respected representative of our club and deserves better than to be referred to in the derogatory manner which Brian brings.

We all have to abide by certain rules in any society. We all love the club and we are all loyal to the club. We don't want to be considered mindless unquestioning fans - we hold the club responsible for the actions it takes on our behalf. We vote out the board if they don't act in our best interests. If the coaching staff have shortcomings then it is encumbent on the club to determine this and act to correct it.

I don't think we are anywhere near that - we have an excellent senior coach who has a very difficult transition period to navigate through and I am sure that the whole process is being monitored closely to ensure that the very best outcomes are achieved as quickly as possible.

Destabilizing comments from outside don't help this transition and we all know that they can snowball into negative press and exacerbate the problems we have rather than help.

I agree insofar as Watters is concerned. It's cowardly and Melbournesque to heap the blame on him. All in all, we haven't played awful footy this season (1st Quarter North Melbourne, 4th Quarter WB aside). We've been close to the mark against some good sides. There's plenty to like about the coaching, albeit it's not winning games just yet.

Keep your chins up kids. We aren't cellar dwellers and with a bit of luck we'll finish middle-order.

There are 2 places to finish on the ladder, top 6 and bottom 4.

7-14 should only be visited when transitioning from one to the other

Good way of looking at it. Tell me then, as we are in the bottom four, where do we need to finish to win that grouping 15th, or 18th?

wooden spoons will lessen my abilities on the bay, 15th is fine.

Anywhere bottom 4 with a side by side pick gained through free agency and enough pressure to wheel and deal in the pre season draft is fine.

Let it not be forgotten that our best ever off season involved Riewoldt at 1, Kosi at 2, Gehrig from the threat of giving nothing in the pre season draft, Hamill by pretty much the same route ( minus D Wakelin) and Brett Voss from actually using the pick.

Finishing 9th in 2007 netted us McEvoy.

Agreed, as great as Pick 1 would be to see. I'm rather happy with the current number of wooden spoons we have. Let's keep it that way for as long as possible kthx.

Where we are now is fine in terms of the draft....pick 3 or 4. I do not see us falling below Melbourne or GWS. Brisbane might be in trouble so we might jump them but who knows. We might get on a run, win 3 or 4 and get up to 14th or 13th.

Although two top 5 picks would be lurverly!
