MEDIA RELEASE FROM THE AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE
The AFL wishes to advise the following video charges have been laid so far from the weekend's round of matches. The Tribunal will sit at 5.30pm tomorrow, Tuesday July 9, and details are as follows:

Joel Bowden, Richmond, reported on video evidence by umpire Jason Quigley for misconduct in that he made unnecessary and unreasonable contact to the face of Scott Camporeale, Carlton, during the second quarter of the Round 14 match between Richmond and Carlton at the MCG on Friday July 5, 2002.

What the hell is 'unnecessary and unreasonable contact'? For God's sake, what are they doing to the game!

And for that matter, if consistency was a concern, wouldn't Kretiuk be report for making 'unnecessary and unreasonable contact' with Lloyd's hand?
